Hi Ladies: I'm a Detroit nestie who just received notice today that my husband got a job transfer to Kansas City, MO. That nest board looked kind of slow so I thought I'd try here. We've never been to either KS or MO--does anyone have any tips or advice or suggestions for nice places to live? And if anyone knows of a company that needs an in house attorney, I'd take that too! :-) (I've been attorney for 4 years, which is not enough to get reciprocity in either KS or MO, so I'd have to practice in-house somewhere).

Our board is equally as slow. Are you looking for recs about Kansas City? Kansas City Mo and Kansas City, KS are the same place, just half the city is in MO and half is on the KS side.

Kansas City is at the opposite side of the state of Missouri from St. Louis so it's going to be doubtful that you'll get much advice from here.

Saint Louis is about 4 hours east of KC.  In KC, the very little that I know - compare both sides kansas side and MO side.  Personally - in my field of counseling, the laws are better in KS than MO. But in other fields it doesn't matter. I'd check the laws to see which state you'd rather practice in?

On the kansas side there's a city called Olathe that I've been to a few times and it's very nice.

I know friends who recenting moved to Lawrence, KS, and the town is adorable, albeit a bit of a commute to KC.
