I wish I had an answer but I'm interested to see some answers. I bet it's not that bad but I totally know how you feel.

  • I am right there with you! I was just told by my niece (and did a little googling of it) that apple cider vinegar mixed with water as an astringent can help. She said 1 part acv with 3 parts water. I mixed it last night for the first time and did it before I went to bed. One suggestion I found online was to do it once a day to get used to it, and also at night mainly because of the smell. I also read that at first you might want to rinse your face after 15 min or so at first to not get a bad reaction. Finally if the 1:3 is too much try 1:5 or even up to 1:8 was suggested.

This along with washing my face morning AND NIGHT is what I am going to try!

  • When I get random bigger blemish I put a dab of toothpaste on it at night when I go to bed.  Dries the sucker up!
  • Ugh, I'm having the same problem except - yuck - it's mostly my chest/back that is acting up.  I think that mostly this is due to the new BCP I'm using.

Sadly, the only thing that has ever really worked to get rid of acne for me is tanning, which I really don't want to do.  In the past I've gone to the dermatologist who prescribed two different meds and even those didn't work as well as tanning.  Figures... the thing that works best is the last thing I should be doing.  :)

Yes I have not been working out as much or eating very well hopefully that is my issue and now that I am getting back into the groove of working out and eating better it will go away ASAP!!!

I may try the apple cider thing too.

  • Make sure you're drinking plenty of water also. I've been lucky my whole life & never had severe acne problems, but I do always get one or two pretty bad (and painful!) blemishes whenever I'm PMSing. The last 6 weeks I have been making sure I drink plenty of water (which also helps me feel fuller, longer) and this last cycle I didn't get any PMS related flair ups. So, I don't know - could be a fluke, but I think drinking plenty of water has helped me.
  • After 27 years of searching (haha) I've finally found the perfect combo for me:

a prescription (and super gentle) face lotion from the Derm + the Clarisonic face brush = clear skin for Ali. Any deviation from this results in massive breakouts.
