XP: Top 5 fave workout songs

Ok...trying to get the board moving and I need to update my Ipod for some long runs I have coming up and need some variety (I like any kind of music, but am running out of ideas for downloads)

What are your top 5 favorite songs to workout/run to?

Re: XP: Top 5 fave workout songs

  • I go through this with my I-pod too.  I just updated mine as well.  Here's some artists I added...Michael Jackson, N'Sync, Brittany Spears, Kei$a, Lady Gaga, Jay Sean, Black Eyed Peas, Christina Aguilara...anything that would make me want to dance I figure can get me running.

  • Holy cow, what a hard question!   These come to mind first:

    Supermassive Black Hole by Muse

    Chelsea Dagger by The Fratellis

Ain't Nothing Wrong with That by Rubert Randolph & The Family Band

    Mr. Brightside by The Killers

And these caught my eye on my phone: Bad Things by Jace Everett, Major Tom by Shiny Toy Guns, Life is a Highway (Rascal Flatts), The Mating Game by Bitter:sweet, So What by Pink, I'm Shipping up to Boston by Dropkick Murphys, C'mon Feel the Noise by Quiet Riot, Sweet Child O' Mine by Guns N' Roses.  I've also found that River's Dance from the Firefly soundtrack is really easy for me to keep pace with on an elliptical or stair climber, but it's probably not a song you'd be expecting on a list of top workout songs.  : )

Here's what I can think of off the top of my head: Break the Ice by Britney, Points of Authority/99 problems by Linkin Park and Jay-Z, Nookie by Limp Bizkit, When I Grow Up by The Pussycat Dolls, and Music by Madonna. I have lots of Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Britney, Linkin Park, Tupac, Kanye West, and Madonna on my workout playlists.

  • Look up Rock-it Scientists. They have a mix of songs from the last 20 years that last for about an hour. All good pace for working out and jogging, I almost can't go anyone without listening to them. There is nothing better than Snopp Dog mixed with Achy Breaky Heart. I think there are about 3 I-pod casts at this time and #2 is my personal fave.
