This board has suddenly died. No more than a handful of posts in the past month
So check in! I know people are lurking. How are you doing and what is keeping you busy?
I quit my job at the end of February and became a SAHM. Jack is keeping me busy and just started walking the past few weeks. I have a baby shower I'm co-hosting (and making ALL the food for) this Saturday and then I start preparing for Jack's first birthday party/4th of July party two weeks after that. I can't believe my little guy is gonna be one. We are starting a mom's day out program Thursday and swim classes again on Monday which I'm really excited about. Can't wait till the next few weeks are over to relax again a little.
Re: Check-in
April-October is my busy season at work ... seems that's all i am doing nowadays. weekends fly by with bbqs and get-togethers. the Mr. has been working full time in addition to attending grad school - needless to say the hours he IS at home are spent with each other.
ive got some household projects in the works - been organizing my 2nd bedroom in the hopes that it can be made into a nursery within the next year. plans to rip up the carpet and DIY laminate flooring in both bedrooms is also underway.
i do need to post more ... i think i should start taking breaks throughout the day to 'refresh' and 'recharge'.
summer is my busy season at work as well, i have just been swamped. i also took off two weeks to go to jamaica and i feel like im in a never ending game of catch-up.
weekends have been hectic and im afraid that this summer is going to fly by!
my SIL is pregnant with the first grandchild of the family, so that has been our excitement. her shower is next month, and i have volunteered to do the diaper cake and i have zero artistic abilities.
next weekend my youngest cousin turns 21 so my entire family (parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts and uncles, etc.) are all going to AC for the weekend. i think its going to be a great time!
Hi! I'm here. Although I have ZERO going on...you ladies all have exciting things happening
I've just been busy with work and the Mister is busy working 2 jobs (70 hour work weeks!). Much of my time in the evenings are spent going to the gym and the usual house chores. Wow, I just realized how pathetic my like really is! haha
Just lurking and still living in Central FL, but I'll play :-)
We had our last day of school lasy Thursday, so that's always a good thing (DH and I don't have kids yet). One of my students passed away a few days before the end of school, so that definately made our school family closer - I am lucky to work with such wonderful, supportive people. We're leaving for London on Saturday and are hoping to be able to buy plane tickets soon to visit family in PA. DH and I have decided to start trying for babies soon :-) My puppy's tail got bit by fire ants, so she's been taking benedryl and trying not to itch.
That's about it...
sooooo sorry about your student! that's tragic - i am sure the kids are taking that rough.
and poor pup!
where in jamaica were you at? i was there in february ... mixed reviews.
... every single day of forever.
we went to sandals whitehouse and loved it! we were there for twelve days. where did you stay?
I still check the board but there is never anything here
( Going to the Brewfest in Harrisburg this weekend. Anyone else?
Happy Thursday!
I don't post often, but I'm around. ;o)
Not too much going on in my end; work, sleep, eat, repeat.
Although Hubbers and I are starting to do research on adoption. I really think this is a route we're going to take (either now or 3 years from now). If anyone has any experience with adoption, please don't hesitate to share it with me!
ive heard whitehouse is fantastic! we went the cheaper route and stayed at ocho rios. never again. did not even compare to regency in st.lucia or royal bahamian in bahamas.
id like to check out whitehouse one day though. love sandals resorts.
DD 1/29/07 -
im sorry that you didnt have a great experience! i would definitely recommend Whitehouse. its very worth the money.
we met a travel agent from Indianaoplis and she said that if we ever stayed elsewhere that the Sandals in Ocho Rios and Negril weren't as great as the Couples' resorts in those locations. she gave me some great tips on what countries to visit and where to stay!
I'm here off and on as well. not much to report. DS turns 6 months next Tuesday. We close on our house in PA 6/30 (selling)...Since moving to TX I've been a domestic Goddess turned SAHM...I did have a job in PA. So my days are spent following LO schedule pretty much...eat.. sleep..play... we're making most of all his baby food. Really easy to do and kinda fun. We love seeing him enjoy new experiences. Taking lost of pictures of DS as well.
DH is gone for about 12hr a day so both DS and I are very excited when he gets home.
We home to be in PA for DH's family reunion in July and then for Christmas.
I am newer around here. I just got married in April.
Things have been busy since getting married because we had bought a house in fall...so we haven't done as much with it since we were planning a wedding.
So we've been busy gardening and organizing....and also attending bbq's for family etc etc.
Kristi
I check in once in a while but it is dead so I don't post much.
Not too much going on. Done work for the summer and PRAYING I find a contract position for the fall. I was offered one but then the superintendent rejected it because I almost (last 2 classes this summer) have a master's and he didn't want to pay me so much right now so I am hoping the district I was in will come through.
We had a yard sale yesterday and today so life has been busy getting ready for that. We did well yesterday at the sale, but not so much today. There were a lot of community yard sales, so that hurt us. But hey, it is money we didn't have before!
I start my 2nd to last grad class next week. I can't wait to be DONE!
And we are leaving for vacation in a few weeks and I can't wait for that! We are flying to Salt Lake City and then driving to see the salt flats and then driving up to Wyoming to stay at Yellowstone for a few days. My parents will have already driven out there with their RV, so we are going to stay in the RV with them. We are going to drive east with my parents to Mt. Rushmore, and the north to Minnesota to visit a good friend of mine before flying home! I can't wait!
Hi ladies! I try to check in regularly but have been travelling for work lately.
There have been no major life changes for us, other than my paternal grandma moving into a nursing home, which is a good thing. Summer weekends have been busy with gardening and fishing and some parties. I went camping with some girls this weekend and had a blast. Can't wait to visit with my niece again over 4th of July!
Abbie, I hope you have so much fun on that vacation. I've been to a lot of those places out west, except for Salt Lake. Yellowstone is incredible. If you make it into the Badlands, I recommend Jewel Cave.
I hardly ever get on here anymore, but I'm at work and it's a little slow......
We built a new house in Mechanicsburg and moved in June 12th. I'm still getting used to everything!
We sold our old house and settlement is this Friday! It took us two realtors and over 6 months, but it finally sold.
Sophia will be 2 next month/ Time flies. She is such a little busy body. We have decided she will be an only child - we had been up in the air about that for awhile, but the decision is made and I'm happy with it.
That's about all the exciting news with me!
