Will Verizon ever get the iPhone?
The new iPhone 4 is coming, and for the first time, I'm thinking of switching over to AT&T. However, I had heard rumors that Apple's contract with AT&T is over now and may be looking to increase their courier services with other companies.
Is this true? Will the iPhone ever come to Verizon?
Re: Will Verizon ever get the iPhone?
No. When they did the big release for the new iPhone, Apple said it was keeping only AT&T. I love my HTC Evo on sprint though, it's better than the iphone I used to have.
Edit: And all these posts about problems with iphones on this board also keep me away. No thank you!
No. AT&T holds sole contact with Apple.
What problems?
Only problem I've had is I learned NOT to drop mine in the toilet. Got it working again (barely) but I should have the 4 by the 25th (pre ordered it yesterday).

My ONLY problem with the iPhone is how fragile it is. The 4 is made from the same glass as helicopter windshields. Problem solved
AT&T hold exclusivity through 2011. Also, Steve Jobs doesn't take kindly to people bashing his products, and Verizon created an entire campaign around it. I think if any other carrier gets the iPhone, it will be Sprint.

I may be completely off base, but it was my understanding that the new Droid Incredible, which is Verizon's, is supposed to be iphone's primary competitor.
One thing I do know is that my iphoneaholic coworker seems pretty impressed with my Incredible.
This. Verizon has been saying that they should be getting the iPhone soon to just string along any customers that think about switching. It would be fun to have one but my friends have AT&T and their service is just horrible.
"They say with time it gets better. Not true. With time you only get used to it."
i am actually the opposite. i left verizon due to horrific service (my phone basically did not work at all inside my home. when i had a call to 911 dropped, i knew it was time to leave for sure). i moved to ATT since DH & my family were all with ATT, and also so that i could get the iphone. i haven't had a problem since. no issues with dropped calls. no issues with not receiving my calls/texts/emails. and i have yet to have any type of problems with my iphone, because to date i havent had even any minor problems.
i wouldnt return to verizon if it was the only carrier left on the planet. when a provider drops my emergency phonecall and tells me that i would have to talk on the phone outside...it poses a real problem to me.
