Blackberry Bold vs. Curve
It's about time for me to upgrade to a new phone. I currently have a BB curve and have loved it. It's definitely feeling it's age now though, after 2 years.
I'm looking at getting either the BB curve or bold. Any recommendations between the 2?
From what I've read it looks like the main difference is that the bold has 3G, a better camera and wifi.
Re: Blackberry Bold vs. Curve
Which model Curve and Bold are you talking about here?
I have a Bberry Curve 8900 right now and I have had so many issues with it... I'm on my 5th one now in less than a year.
When it works, though, I do really like it. Everything runs really smoothly. It does have Wifi and I think the camera is great (besides the delay while it auto-focuses, but that's just how it is so it's fine).
It does not have 3G but I have never had an issue with service, dropped calls, missed calls, etc. In fact, DH has an Iphone w/3G and in certain spots where he has no signal, I do.
I actually originally had my choice between the Bold and the Curve and went with the Curve strictly because of the size of it. I felt like the Bold was bigger and heavier in comparison.
I have a Bold 9700 and it is about a month old. Overall, I'm very happy with it. I get good service, and it easily connects with my desktop, blue tooth, and home wifi.
The camera is also really good- it has an LED flash and its application usages are really quick to upload (like to facebook or twitter).
Things I wish it had: Better battery life (this is all smartphones though, mine lasts 2 days with frequent usage), Better start up guide (it is fine now that I know how to use it, but it has these 2 "hidden" buttons on the top and that made me CRAZY til I figured them out), and a bigger screen.
Stand up for something you believe in.
I had a BB Curve (8310) then upgraded to the 9700 last November and I love it. I like that the size isn't as bulky as the 9000 yet the screen on the 9700 is larger and clearer than on the curve. I also love the optical trackpad and whenever I have to update something on my DH's 8310 I find the trackball annoying. I love having the 3g and Wifi too.
It's quick and I get much better battery life on it vs my old curve but battery life is dependent on your usage and what apps you're using.
