What did you do with your wedding dress?
I was curious to relatively new Nesties where they put their wedding dress. I got mine cleaned but given the bulkiness, it's been hanging on the back of my door taking up space.
I did not get mine preserved and considering getting that done since I think they put it in a box that I can more easily store.
Would love to hear what people have done with them who have kept their dress. Is it hanging in your closet?

Re: What did you do with your wedding dress?
Mine is definitely still in my closet.... at my parent's house. I think my mom had it cleaned after the wedding, but.... I'm not entirely sure. The dress is one of those things that I really don't want to think about for a while after the wedding is over I know I'm keeping it around (somewhere) until I have my first child so I can use my train as a baptismal gown... I would love if my daughter (eventually) would wear it, but knowing what I went through with my mom's, I wouldn't be surprised if it just gets immortalized in a closet until it falls apart.........
I love the idea of having it turned into a baptism gown!
Mine is in the closet at my parent's house, which I am almost embarrassed to admit! I keep thinking we'll do the "after the wedding" pictures, which would be lovely and fun in the City, but I know we never will. I also keep threatening to wear it out to dinner on our one year anniversary, which is next month. I know I won't do that either!
Eventually I am sure I'll have it restored, and keep it. I know my daughter (hypothetical at this point) won't want to wear it, but maybe they'll want to see it.
Mary Catomy in Schiller Park does this (I can't find her email address now (847) 678-7226). She also turns them into 1st communion gowns. She did my alterations and I asked her where to get it cleand & preserved and that's when she told me to just get it clean and if I wanted bring it back to her when we are pg and she'll turn it into a baptism gown and maybe have enough fabirc to make a communion dress also. I plan on doing both if we have a daughter.
I did a trash the dress. Then I washed it (myself) and a friend of my photographers turned it into an awesome slip cover for my wedding album. I have the rest of the fabric in a bag. Who knows what I'll do with it.
