easy appetizers for DH's party
I am throwing my DH a surprise 40th bday party. I usually post on the bump but thought you ladies could help. I am having most of the food brought in but for $$ sake thought of making some of my own items (fruit tray, goat cheese, etc). Any recommendations would be great!

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
Bruschetta w/ Toasted Bread Rounds
Spinach Dip in a Bread Bowl
Brown Sugar Bacon Wrapped Shrimp
Mini Pizza Rounds (read this on a site the other day, can't remember which site, but order a cheese pizza ask them not to slice it at all and if they can underbake it just a bit. Take a round cookie cutter and cut out rounds of pizza and add your own toppings, throw into the oven for just a few minutes)
I would do something that can be prepared ahead of time and finished off the day of.
You can freeze these and bake them the day of.
Gruyere Palmiers
The dates, always a hit with the guys, can be assembled the day before.
Bacon-Wrapped Dates
Parmesan Artichoke Pesto with Toast Points or Crostini - pesto can be made the day before, and you can always use store-bought crostini
Homemade Onion Dip with Veggies
Bacon, Leek, & Cheddar Mini-Quiches - make ahead and freeze
Here is an easy app for you.
Take toasted bread rounds, spread goat cheese on them, sprinkle a little cayenne pepper and then drizzle honey on top. They are super simple and will be a party favorite!
Thank so much ladies!
If you have an area where things can be plugged in, meatballs are always a hit at my parties. Take frozen meatballs and put them in a crock pot with grape jam and chili sauce. After about 4 hours, it all melts together and is fabulous.
I usually put toothpicks next to it to help people serve them. Not the classiest, but easy and very tasty.
