We are having a problem with carpenter ants, does anyone know of an eco-friendly way to get rid of them?
Thanks
Re: Ants!
There was an earlier post about this, and the suggestions ranged from peppercorns or cayenne pepper, to borax mixed white powdered sugar, to the store-bought deterrants like Terro. When my boyfriend got carpenter ants at his place, I brought my kitten over. She took care of quite a few, although she's not the most eco-friendly option.
We are using Terro brand products for our ants (not carpenter). Terro uses borax + sweetener.
That's totally eco-friendly! She's a predator and the ants are prey. They're being disposed of as they would be in the wild and your kitten is getting a healthy workout and not ingesting anything she wouldn't be in the wild.
Lemon Juice is an ant deterrent, as is cinnamon.
Good luck!
