We have our router and our modem in the office. The office is downstairs, on one "end" of the house, and we have a pretty good signal in most of the house. It needs to be refreshed, by turning Airport off and then back on again, quite often, particularly if I'm streaming something, and it's getting rather annoying. The modem and router are both fine and they send the signals reliably, but something happens quite often and they get "stuck" and like I said, Airport needs to be turned off/turned on. Then, things are fine. Until it needs another nap, that is. Any ideas how to limit/curtail this from happening?
Additionally, likely because of the location of the router/modem, the signal in the master bedroom (which is one floor up and on the other side of the footprint of the house) is quite weak. I get all bars on the Airport, but I can't usually stream (hulu, for example) in that room, and some webpages take forever to load. So I'm wondering, does there exist a thing that would "boost" the signal and strengthen it sufficiently to cover the rest of the house?
Re: Getting a stronger WiFi signal
We'll just not tell H about this little fact, m'kay?
