He knows me so well!!! I've been having a completely craptastic day at work. We have a bunch of summer-hires and I want to kick them because they're getting on my nerves.... and it's rainy, and I'm grumpy because I just started my period (the first one in like 3 months because I skipped periods so I wouldn't be on it for my wedding or my honeymoon). So I'm a giant crankopotomus today and Adam called me to tell me that he got off work early so he stopped by the liquor store so he could have a nice frosty concoction made with our new blender waiting on me when I get home. Awww, he makes me want to papercut people a little bit less than I usually want to!! Only 3 more hours to go!!
Re: I love my husband
Awww you precious little crankopotomus! what an adorable husband
haha we got a Margaritaville frozen margarita maker and I was hoping to come home and Brandon would have gone out and bought some tequila and mix but noooo! He did not. Probably good though, we went together and I got to pick out what I wanted
dude I just skip my period EVERY month. I see no point in menstruating.
"So I'm a giant crankopotomus today"
I love this word!!!!!! And what an awesome hubby
Enjoy your frozen concotion tonight
I'm not quite sure what concoction he's going to come up with though. I told him to surprise me. So I could come home to daiquiris, margaritas, or something completely random... he used to bartend so I have complete faith in him that whatever he comes up with will be absolutely awesome!
I'm on the pill though and I think that skipping your period all the time when on the pill effs up your body or something. I think I heard that somewhere, but I could totally be making it up, so don't take my word for it.
I'm on the pill too
I don't think it makes a difference. My BFF's mom is a nurse and she's the one who told me how to stop it using the Nuva Ring. Now the latest doctor I went to made me switch back to the pill, but I'm still skipping it, but I also told them I always skip my period and they didn't say it was bad.
man I wish Brandon was a bartender! Yummmm. I made up the most delicious margarita last weekend. Tequila, triple sec, all natural margarita mix, orange juice, lime juice and lemon juice haha it was SO good! might have been cuz I was already a tad bit drunk when I made it...
Then I'm probably making it up... I'm not a doctor, but I DID stay at a Holiday Inn Express... :P
Duh, Hayley!! Everything tastes better after you're already drunk!!! It was hilarious in Jamaica because Adam kept showing the bartenders new drinks to make for me. It got to the point where the bartenders by our pool knew us pretty well and they would just let Adam walk behind the bar and mix stuff for me while he was filling up his own bubba keg with beer.
I cycle naturally about every 6-10 months. My Gyno says that you need to have a withdrawal bleed every 3 months because the lining builds up and can become cancerous.
Hahaha that's awesome!
See that's my worry, what if I try to make another margarita and it's not that good? It was only good because it was preceded by 4 strong pomegranate martinis.. and another margarita... and maybe a mike's hard lemonade? wow I didn't realize how much I drank last weekend.... hahahahaha oh jeeze.
but we are on our health kick now!! No more drinking!
Pom martinis are my favorite!!!! Well, actually, anything with pomegranate is my favorite, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE some pomegranate martinis!!!!
You healthy people.... I swear, I'd end up shooting myself. I LOVE healthy foods, but I wouldn't be able to do it all the time. Adam thought it was funny because we went grocery shopping and I'm getting all these fruits and veggies while he's throwing in random junk and then I come around the corner with a case of beer. He's like "why are you getting all this healthy crap if you're just going to drink beer?" Um, because it's delicious and I want to??? I have to balance my healthy foods with a nice dose of bad for you stuff.
I hate that! Brandon's only a couple inches taller than me but when he was at his skinniest he got to be a couple pounds LESS than me! What a jerk. So unfair, guys naturally lose weight easier. Damn our ability to carry babies!! One of our friends's husband eats a ton trying to gain weight, I don't know how she does it! She has to try really hard to maintain her weight. If Brandon was always eating a bunch of crap I would too haha.

_____???????????????
hahahah I just wanted to use a fail whale
Adam ALWAYS eats a bunch of crap. Luckily, I happen to really like vegetables and fruit!! Even when I'm not trying to watch my weight, I actually would pick celery over cookies any day!!
Oh, my gosh, I need a drink in the worst way after reading this thread. Stop #1 on the way home tonight: Walmart for a new bath mat and a big bottle of mojito mix. Stop #2: PA Wine & Spirits store for rum.
Matt outweighs me by at least 100 lbs.-- that's when he's relatively trim. Most of the time, he weighs twice as much as I do! Of course, he's 8 inches taller than I am and used to be a football lineman...
ugh I wish I was like that! I do like healthy food, but I love carbs and junk
After jinxed posted about not having a period leading to possible cancer, I read the first 6 words of this post and totally think hayley's about to say something about cancer....but no, she worries about her margarita.
My Adam did the same for me last night. I cried about 3 times yesterday at work, and the thing that pushed me over the edge was getting my new name tag....shouldn't have gone at 4pm when I look like hell. Plus, I chunk of my hair was sticking out and the old *** taking my picture didn't say anything! Plus, now my nametag says Rebecca instead of Becky (like my old name tag)....and for some reason, that was the last straw and I cried when I got back to my unit. Might be worth the $10 to "lose" my ID and go on a day off with fresh hair and make up. So anyway, he welcomed me home with a bottle of one of my favorite wines and I sure did down half of it. Yay for wonderful husbands!
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
Stu, I'm wishing I had a nice drink in hand right now. And I'm thinking you're husband is pretty awesome.
Hayley, based on the picture in your siggy I don't believe you're 155. If you are, you sure don't look like it. And remember, practice makes perfect, so keep making those margaritas.
Aww thanks buckeye
I probably gained like 10 pounds since the wedding, plus my dress was corset back so that helped haha.
I never saw were jinx said it was related to cancer? lol that would be pretty lame, they say I'm pretty close to developing cervical cancer but that's from HPV, not birth control
OH now I see it. haha. Meh, I've never heard that, though every few months I do bleed for one reason or another, I had a period last month when I switch to the pill from Nuva Ring, and every once in a while I'd just forget and have one.
I would think if it was really cancerous that they might make it a little more well known, since it's so easy to just skip all the time.
I just did a google search on "is it dangerous to skip your period".... my work computer won't let me look at any of the sites, but most of them (from what I can see on the search results page) are saying yes, it is dangerous.
Hayley, you are so wrong... if it's on the internet, it HAS to be true!! Everyone knows that!!
HOW DARE YOU! I am never wrong!!!
*librarian cries because so many people believe that this is actually so*
Anyways. The "period" that you have on hormonal BC is technically not a period at all, but rather what they call a "withdrawl bleed." I just checked the most "reliable" websites I could find on the topic (primarily about.com; there's not much from authoritative sources turning up in my Google search or when I checked WebMD.com). They claim that it was mostly a marketing gimmick for when the Pill was developed back in the 50's; it made it seem less invasive and was also a built-in assurance every month that you weren't pregnant (back before the home-test three-packs and the self-checkouts at Walmart).
I did a quick-n-dirty check of a couple of our library's databases, and most of what I found indicated that there's no known risk in skipping your period when you're on hormonal birth control. Most doctors seem to feel that it's okay. That said, I would still check with your doc, especially because every woman's body and situation are different.
I myself get totally messed up on hormones and have to use barrier methods so I don't go literally crazy (I took myself to the MedExpress clinic when I was on the NuvaRing because I thought I was dying of heart failure, and I was terrified to be in a room alone) or lose all of my hair (the mini-pill also destroyed my skin). Yes, a diaphragm is quaint, but my body regulates itself pretty well without interference from me.
