Well about a week or so ago our upstairs ac went out and the guy came to look at it today and said it looks like our compressor is broken and we may have to replace the whole unit. That is just great with DH being laid off right after the wedding my paychecks are already being stretched pretty thin... On top of that, the VP of our company put in his resignation yesterday and after 2 months (if our CEO doesn't straighten up and help us turn the company around) he's gone, which means there won't be much of a company left after that... I wish the real world would stop kicking me in the butt right about now.
Hope everyone else's week is going fabulously well to make up for this not-so-fun one of mine. Hopefully DHs fundraising party for his Team in Training/LLS campaign tomorrow night is a huge success and lots of fun to start the weekend off right . He is already 77% percent to his goal and just needs $800 more I KNOW he can do it!
I just have to keep reminding myself to stay positive; everything will work out as long as I have a positive attitude!
Re: Oh no! :(
Can't wait to meet my baby boy!
Oh man, I'm sorry!!
Yes, staying positive will help a great deal!!
Man, that is a lot of crud to handle all at once. I'm sorry. :-/ Hang in there, it's all sure to get better.
What event is your DH doing for Team in Training?? I did the Grand Canyon hike about a year ago and had such a great experience. I was afraid I wasn't going to raise all the money, but I somehow pulled it off right at the end (fundraising + training = lots of work!). I hope his fundraising party brings in lots of money!
Sending T&P your way! Hope it works out soon : )
Sorry, sometimes it seems that when it rains it pours! Try and stay positive, it does help.

Oh no! I'm sorry. I really hope things start looking up soon! Financial stress is the worst. Hang in there, and I'll keep you guys in my thoughts & prayers!
Oh, and good luck to your DH with his fundraising! That's awesome!

Thanks ladies!!
He is running in the Seattle Rock-n-Roll Marathon at the end of the month. He wants to keep doing Team In Training races and is considering doing the Rock-n-Roll in Phoenix in January next.He has really enjoyed the training but it has been pretty hard since he had surgery on his ACL a little over a year ago and wasn't fully recovered when he started training. But he is really motivated, so I know he'll make it!
Jennifer - DH told me last night that the AC is from 86 - so almost as old as me... and they already did something to help the compressor a while back and now it's TOTALLY shot. Hopefully our insurance we got with the house will cover a nice chunk of it and he said the AC guy will give us a discount and there are gov discounts or somethign, I dunno how any of that works. I am just crossing my fingers.
I did find out a REALLY good thing last night though we have this checking account linked with his banking stuff that was setup for to pay for college that still has a significant amount of money in it and we just never touched it because we didn't know what the money was for. Well, his parents said the money is there for house emergencies like this. We can't pay off credit cards or bills with it, but emergencies and large repairs are good to go from there. WHEW!!!!

Oh yea, if the unit is from the 80's then you actually would be waaaaaaay better off replacing it. It probably has a pretty low seir(sp?)rating like i am going to guess 9 up to 12 ish. so when you replace the unit with a higher seir(sp?) rating you will have a way more energy efficent machine and you should see a decrease in your energy cost. That is awesome that the funds are there for major house repair such as this!
