TGIF!
What are you looking forward to most this weekend?
For me, DH and I are going wine tasting in the N Georgia mountains. It was a Jetsetter deal, and the first one we bought, so I'm really excited to try it out. It's free wine tasting with an overnight stay, and they're giving us two bottles of wine for the room. It ended up being a phenomenal deal.
Other than that, I'm not coming into the lab this weekend, because we had to shut down all experiments for some quality control issues. I'll still be writing and drawing some schematics though... woof.
Re: TGIF!
DH and I are going to a local minor league baseball game this weekend. The magazine DH used to work for used a photo he took while he was still working there, but they misspelled his name in the credit for the photo. So DH called the graphic design guy and teasingly gave him a hard time about it. I guess he felt so bad that he offered us baseball tickets for tomorrow night as recompense.
Because I couldn't figure out what to get Dad for Father's Day, I decided to appeal to his sweet tooth instead and I'm going to take a crack at golf themed cupcakes, with little flags and graham cracker sand traps. We'll see how badly this turns out. If I succeed, I'll post pictures later...
Other than that...my new replacement computer should arrive today--I'm excited about that!

dvshaw- your mention of wine tasting gave me another idea for your getaway with your husband. Santa Barbara/Los Olivos/Solvang. It's amazing- beautiful wine country!
I am looking forward to getting my car back tonight (some drunk guy backed into my car while it was parked and it is getting fixed). I have been driving a rental car and it has really made me miss my own car. I feel so much safer in my car.
Tomorrow we have family birthday parties to attend. And Sunday my husband plays in a men's softball league so we have that and then a party at his mom's house for all of the dads in our lives that I am taking my father to.
I am most excited about giving my husband his father's day gift. I got him Dodger tickets on a special day where they are celebrating Latino culture and having all you can eat carne asada tacos and Mexican style corn on the cob. Not good for his diet, but I know he will love the tickets.
How friggin big is their house? You've been painting for like ever!
Plans are still up in the air for us.
I was supposed to be working on baby shower invites I was hired to make. However, the mom-to-be decided she wanted to tell the hosts what the decor and invites should be based around--even though decisions have already been made. Luckly, I've come up with a way to alter the invites in a manner that will save most of the work I've already completed and not change the price dramatically. However, MIL (the one who hired me) is PO'd at the mom-to-be for her poor manners in etiquette and is thinking about how she wants to move forward--she is considering sticking with the old invites but may go with the new ones. I should have an answer tonight. If not, I'm going out and having fun!
I can't wait for the day to end so I can get out of town. "typhoid mary" in my office who sits 2 cubes over is sick. again! (this seems to be an every other week event for her and I've truly never encountered someone who is as sick as she is ALL THE TIME) Use a dang tissue and stop snorting crap down! I'm getting close to yacking in my cube from the sound of it!!!

This is the first weekend I don't have anything planned and I am so excited. I've really been feeling like crap lately (months). No energy, exhausted, etc and just got done reading this website http://www.dadamo.com/ and SOOOO much of it is making sense to me. I'm currently on meds and started feeling way worse and was going to call my doctor this morning, but then found this website through a blog I read. I'm a type A and everything they said makes so much sense to me. I have to go back to the doctor the beginning of August so I am going to give this a try to see if it helps at all.
Looking forward to doing some shopping, cleaning my house, and actually seeing my DH this weekend. He is on call but I have not seen him in a week and I miss him. We went to Michigan last weekend but there was so much family drama we did not get to relax. Stupid in-laws. Looking forward to sitting on the deck and drinking wine until midnight...updating my website, and doing some editing at my own pace. Oh and I get to go photograph puppies on monday! That makes me happy.... I can already see DH trying to sneak one away in his pocket...
LoL, we haven't been going every weekend. It's only two of us painting (his parents can't do it) and a three bedroom house. We have the kitchen and three bedrooms to go. The bathroom, hallways and living room are done.
ROLLER DERBY! Our friend Christa is a Bay Area Derby (BAD) Girl and they have a bout in SF tomorrow night It should be kick-ass and a lot of the spectators will be dressing up like zombies. LOL!
Other than that, DH, MIL and I will be out at the farmers market and brunch and shopping in order to vacate her house for the open house on Sunday.
This sounds AWESOME!
My class had their preschool graduation today and it went great! So now I am looking forward to relaxing. One more week of school for them, then I get older kids in the summer (looking forward to that!)
My mom is having a Mary Kay party tomorrow morning and I am looking forward to that and date night with the hubby
Woo hoo! TGIF is right!
Today was great because my friend/co-worker/BM came in to the office today (she's on maternity leave). We got to see their new baby of course, and we went out to lunch. I found out that she's coming back for sure on July 1, which can't come fast enough for me because I'm in charge of her work while she's gone, so I have 2 people's jobs right now and it stinks.
Tonight we're just lounging around and watching the Cardinals (hopefully) beat the A's.
Tomorrow I'm going wedding gown shopping with my sister and our mom. There may be a trip to City Museum with DH and a couple of his cousins, but that may depend on how long I'm shopping with my sister. I hope they go later in the afternoon or at night.
Sunday may be a cleaning/laundry catch-up day. Sounds fun, right?!
I'm late...but tonight we went to a happy hour (those are way less fun these days...) to say bon voyage to our friend who is moving to London to live with her boyfriend, then out to dinner with our friends/neighbors.
Tomorrow we are hopefully doing a bit of cleaning, then heading to my friend (and bm's) house so I can lay by the pool. And DH can watch the World Cup with her DH. Their TH community has the nicest pool...and there are some awesome outlets nearby, so if we get really ambitious I might get some baby shopping in.
Sunday our nephew has a piano recital and we'll probably get something to eat to celebrate fathers day...and it is our grocery shopping day.
So...nothing super exciting but should be a good weekend all around.

I'm late as well but we went to West Edmonton Mall today and got some good retail therapy in. I needed some new summer clothes and as well I was looking for some flip flops for San Diego. I bought a pair of sanuks. http://www.sanuk.com/ OMG they are the most comfortable things I have ever had on!
Tomorrow I have to work and I am also bringing my mom and sister to the airport since they are spending 2 weeks in Newfoundland. I also have to work on Sunday and we are planning on maybe having my dad over for supper since it's fathers day.
I'll be bringing the camera for sure, so hopefully I can get some good shots and share them with you all. FUN!
