With this slipcover:
Can't wait to meet my baby boy!
Its for our office. The wall paint is "orange confection" and the tile (which is throughout the house) is light beige with hints of orange. The colors are verrrry muted, so I really want a bright rug.

That changes everything! I thought it was for the living room...office? That would be cool
this is my thought of how I think it would be taken by people seeing it.
That it looks kind of teenage-ish. Now that may be a wrong assumption by people but it is just my thought.
That being said, it's just NMS
That is a really good point Christina, I agree.
I'm just so desperate to get some color into that room

I think it would be fun in an office, but I also agree about the teenage thing a bit - it does remind me a lot of the rugs I had in my dorms... Although, that just goes to show that I like it I guess what about a rug with squares of color instead of the design?

I actually don't think it is too bad. I'm a totally colorful decorator.
I think you could rock it with a WhitE slipcover (I heart white slipcovers). Do you already have the slipcover? Maybe some pillows for texture. I'd want to see the color of the paint to know for sure.
That second rug is similar in style but different in color to one I have, it's not bad. Not into that first one though--I don't like big blocks of color in a rug unless it's in a kitchen or laundry room. Even there I'd prefer stripes. I like stripes a lot! This is turning into a random comment
Shelly, please just come decorate my house.

West Elm does have a lot of nice stuff!
I think you could make the rug work with the color Tay. Though I'm still rooting for the white slipcover--so easy to accessorize as your decorating style changes.
