XP: ultrasound video/tech question

i've never posted on this board, but thought one of you ladies may have run into this issue before and/or might have some suggestions.

we've had a couple of ultrasounds now, and each time, the tech has recorded the session on a DVD+RW. she hasn't finalized the disc (presumably  so we can keep adding sessions). we can watch the videos on dh's laptop (new-ish toshiba running windows 7) but my laptop (new-ish macbook pro running snow leopard) sees it as a blank disc.

anyone have an tips or ideas for ripping the files off without finalizing the disc? i'd love to post the video online for oot friends and family. tia!

Re: XP: ultrasound video/tech question

  • When you put it into the CD drive, go into My Computer and open it (will be D: usually).  You should get a window that shows you the contents of the disc, and then you can drag and drop the files to your desktop.  Finalizing the disc doesn't just happen, you have to tell a burning program to do it.
  • It's possible that the format of the video isn't compatible with any programs you have on your mac.
