There are a few ways to initiate something like that.
You could communicate to him that you're interested in having it hot and heavy and too shy to initiate.
You could ask him to give it to you like so.
You could take charge yourself and get a little more hot all on your own: push him down on a piece of furniture, nip or nibble his lips or neck, grab his ass a little rough.

Seriously though, why don't you try role playing? You could play the dominant character so you have an excuse to be a little more forward or rough.
I used to be the same way. During sex I kept imagining what it would be like if it was hot and heavy but I could never tell him.
