Hi all! I'm sure this is reaching but I figured I would go ahead and post this here as well.
A co-worker's mom has a liver disease that requires a liver transplant to avoid liver failure. "The donor needs to be under the age of 50, healthy and be Type O+ blood type. Besides fitting this description, a potential donor would also have to be willing to go through extensive testing and evaluations requried, not to mention the procedure itself with its logn recuperation. He or she would be donating part of their liver which will then regenerate itself."
The recipient lives in Chicago but I'm sure the travel arrangements would be taken care of.
If this is something you would be willing to do please email me and I'll put you in contact with my co-worker.

Re: Liver donor needed....
I hope the person is able to find a donor. Just another reason to be on the organ donor list...
My dad is waiting on a double lung transplant. But that isn't something you can just "give". These situations break my heart.
Do you guys think it would be imposing if I posted on the Chicago board too?
It's eating at my nerves because I'm O+ but I think my job would flip if I tried to take that much time off...there are 2 persons here, including myself, that do what I do.
I know the family would cover any expenses incurred.
I am really sorry about the situation. I hope they find a donor soon.
I would lurk on the local board a little bit, not all boards are as friendly!
