Dog Friendly Areas?

One of our goals for the summer/fall is to get out more and see the area.  I'm not from here, but I've lived in HR long enough to know more than just a handful of places.

I'm looking for areas that are dog friendly though since our Aussie loves to get out and meet people.  Places sort of like Port Warwick and City Center on the Peninsula.

I must say I'm surprised at the lack of dog parks near us and the couple that are around I've heard too many bad experiences with unfortunately improperly trained owners and dogs.

Thanks!

Re: Dog Friendly Areas?

  • I've heard both good & bad things about the bark park at Sandy Bottom, mostly good though. I've seen lots of people bringing their dogs to Yorktown beach, especially on Friday nights when they have their summer concert series. I also see tons of people walking their dogs on the trail that loops around Kiln Creek.

I know Aroma's coffee house in City Center always has a waterbowl outside for pets.
