Could you help me out a lil please?? That's the area we're looking into starting out living, cuz my job is in Sun City. I wanna be w/in a 1/2 hr from there. Do you know of any good apt. complexes to check out, or ones to def. stay away from?? Deanna already gave me her opinion, but I wanted to hear some others too. I found 3 apts. I like...one is on 67th ave, one on Olive ave, & one on Dysart rd. Would you stay away from those areas or what do ya think??
Re: Glendale area ladies...
Off subject but OMG so true. I saw the traffic and was like wow.
Ok now, I would go with what these two ladies say

Surprise is nice, but depending on what type of work your hubs end up finding, it could be a farrrrrr commute!
I'd look in the arrowhead area--lots of nice newer apartments and tons of amenitites all around. Anything on bell road should be good. Olive is definitely hit or miss. Being West of I-17, I wouldn't really want to live south of Peoria (which is a mile north of olive), unless you are west of 75th of 83rd ave. I know this doesn't make a ton of sense because you don't really know your way around yet.
Let us know how else we can help!
Olive is totally sketchy. We are on Olive west of 75th, and it's fine over here...but further east is weird.
I agree with the Surprise suggestion and really think Arrowhead would be your best bet! There are a ton of nice complexes in Arrowhead, and it's close to the freeway and tons of shopping!
Like PP, it depends on where your hubs is working. I almost moved into a complex on 51st ave, north of Thunderbird, Indigo. I really liked it, that's going to put you maybe 5-10 miles from Boswell, since it's at like 103rd and Grand/Thunderbird (they cross right near the hospital). I agree with Arrowhead, with the one exception. the intersection of 83rd ave and Bell is a nightmare! I'd recommend maybe going with something more towards Union Hills.
Something to know, Phoenix is a grid. The numbered streets (for the most part) run north and south, and the named streets (again for the most part) run east and west. The main streets (numbered on the west side) are: 43rd ave, 51st ave, 59th ave, 67th ave, 75th ave, 83rd ave, 91st ave, 99th ave, 107th (I think) ave, from 43rd to 51st its 1 mile. From 43rd to 59th its 2 miles, etc.
I dont know if that helps at all... but hopefully some
I'm dittoing what jenn said, which kinda dittos what I said lol!
but if you live on T-bird, we will tooootttalllleeeeee be neighbors!
Do you happen to know the name of it so I can look it up??
Oh, that does help, thanks! DH is in the carpenter's union, so they'll send him wherever they need him. Kinda selfish, but it's more important where my job is, for that reason. Is Indigo the name of the complex??
It's Indigo Creek, I believe.
If DH is going to be going all over, I would highly recommend being inside the loop 101. Honestly commuting from surprise can be a b!tch- and while yes its your selfish reasoning, if you enjoy spending time with DH... you may want to look a bit interior. If you're further in the interior, and comuting west, you really wont hit traffic at all, it's an easy drive. Most people in that area are trying to commute West to East, so when you go East to West (again in that situation) you're going against traffic.
Here ya go hun
