Where do you *buy* furniture/repurpose shop?
We are in desperate need of a sofa for our living room. Seriously, have you ever tried to veg out on a love seat? Its nearly impossible.
I'm open to reupholstering something with the structure we're looking for, but we don't want to/can't spend an arm and a leg on something new. We bought a living room set from Ashley Furniture right after we got married, b/c we had nothing, and we hate it. Its way too big, its microfiber, and its white. It was expensive (for us), and thats why I don't want to commit to another big purchase like that.
Re: Where do you *buy* furniture/repurpose shop?
I've got no advice, but I will say that I LOVE Microfiber and white, haha! I can't wait to get a new couch set so I'll be eyeballing this post!
Can't wait to meet my baby boy!
Since we have the same couches, but in a different colour - I totally know how you feel. I despise microfiber now, and can't stand the shape/cushiness of the couches...I LOVED them when we bought them.
I would check out craigslist if I were you. My Mum has found some pretty rockin deals on couches that way.
LoL.... Jess doesnt have any money, haha!
We have a tanish sorta colored Microfiber set right now. We've had it for 6 years I guess (Carl had it a year before I met him) and it's just now starting to be to "squishy" when we sit. It kind of sinks in..
But with these kids... OMG it's so easy to clean....

I'm not really sure what "pile" is.
We've had our couches for a few (3-4) years now and they look pretty much brand new still. They were really expensive so we're def. going to get our money's worth on these ones.
Our's don't "pile" yet. The only reason really that I want new ones is because both my husband and I arent small people and we've flattened the insides so it's hard to get up now, haha! I suppose I could somehow figure out how to take the stuffing out and replace it but I suck at that kind of stuff.
That, and the material is starting to fade a little bit and I just don't like the way they look. Otherwise, they are decent couches.

I'm probably spelling it wrong...the correct term is "pilling" and it happens to a lot of soft fabrics. Like how wool sweaters get those little balls when you where them a lot.
But yah, it can totally happen with microfiber, and it's icky.
I've never seen that on a microfiber couch. We had another couch that I hated which it happened to but never seen it on a microfiber one.. I am sorry that yours is doing that
I'm totally late to this post, but I ditto CL. I am a garage sale/goodwill nut too though it can be hard to find good couches. I think CL is the way to go.
Does anybody want to be my garage sale buddy sometime? I think syl is tiring of me pointing at little neon arrows on saturday mornings
Can't wait to meet my baby boy!
OH OH OH !!! ME ME ME!!! I've been dying to get out on a sat. morning but I always forget. lol
No, ours hasn't done that at all. I wonder if it depends on the quality of the microfiber becasue like I said, we've had ours for almost 4 years and they still look brand new.
sister, when you get your house, we should go out!
me too! love love love garage sales!
The Life of the E Family
Yes, for sure! When we get the def. yes, I will need to be garage saling as we'll need more furniture. haha So, maybe in a month? I'm excited!!! I'll even go before then though, if you want!
