It's too quiet for a Monday. Time for a poll!
What food (or drink) are you craving right now?
Re: Monday Poll
My dad's baked bowtie pasta recipe is calling my name...
cream sauce, onions, bowtie pasta, pancetta, garlic, gorgonzola, mushrooms, something green that I can't recall right now(
) yummy-ness.
I won't be having it for a few days though. I need to go say my "goodbyes" to my Grandpa tonight and work tomorrow night until 9:30 p.m. Who knows what the rest of my week holds with my Grandpa's fragile state. *sigh* I desperately need a brighter week. 1 recent death of a child and an imminently pending one for an old man are giving me a serious case of the blues. This big dark raincloud over my extended families can move on any time now.

That does sound good! Think you can score the recipe for the FB cookbook?
My grandmother's fried chicken, mashed potatoes, slaw, green beans slow cooked with bacon, onions and butter (take a perfectly healthy veggie and turn it into a heart attack...yeah grandma!)
But most especially her apple and cherry pies. I have not had one that even came close since she died in 1989. Flaky pastry that just melted in your mouth, mounds of fruit...not that awful jelly looking stuff, a little tart, a little sweet, and obviously made with fresh fruit.
ok...enough! I miss her...
Oh totally can. I have the recipe sitting at home somewhere.
I am soo craving chicken tortilla cassorole (sp). It is sooo yummy, but takes a long time to make during the week.
This - EXACTLY
After just having penne with homemade pesto for lunch I have decided... I am craving halupkies! For those of you who are not Polish, it's basically stuffed cabbage. The church ladies make them all summer long and sell them at the bloc parties. Each congregation has one and the proceeds go to the church. It's where everyone goes to get lunch (and beer) from now until Labor Day. *sigh*

Something chocolaty and sinful. It's been so long since I had a non-weight watcher friendly dessert that I seriously would run over someone right now for a huge slab of chocolate cake!
