Sort of GR: birds nest?

We are pretty excited to find that the decorative bird feeder on our back deck was repurposed into a nest for a robin and her now 3 babies. However, I'm noticing that the parents are practicing their divebombing routines every time I venture onto the deck.

It's a small deck, so it's not like we can lounge around there, but DH is concerned about when he mows the lawn. Is he risking a recreating of The Birds by mowing back there?

Re: Sort of GR: birds nest?

  • We have a Robin that has a nest with babies in our Wysteria which is right next to our veggie garden.  I walk past it every day.  Momma/Dadda are always nearby and watchful but they haven't attacked.

Yesterday while we were staring at the babies (so cute), we saw momma with a worm waiting on the fence and quickly moved so she could feed the little ones.

They are definitely more brazen now that the babies are here but they are still respectful of humans.  The loud noise of the mower is sure to be a deterrent enough for the 'mighty' robin.

How sweet! It's a small price to pay... they'll be all grown up in about 3 wks.
