I'm being impatient but seriously how long until my tomatoes turn red

I've been getting some tomatoes but my san maranzo (sp?) there are probably 100 on the vine but none are red yet. They've been this way for weeks. It is 100 degrees outside.

Re: I'm being impatient but seriously how long until my tomatoes turn red

  • My grape tomatoes having been ripening like crazy, but my Early Girls are still green. I've only gotten one ripe one off of the vine. Plus, they're still kind of small. I wonder if the blazing, hell like heat we've had slows the ripening process.

  • I was feeling the same way until about 2 days ago. We had tons of tiny green cherry tomatoes, then all of a sudden Sunday and yesterday a few started turning red. I still don't have any ripe enough to eat but they're getting there! I was always told not to expect ripe tomatoes until the 4th of July, but like you guys said this summer has been nuts, the heat's probably throwing all kinds of things off.
