Melissa re:WR

So Google maps says it's going to take 2 hours and 14 minutes to drive from Houston Healthcare in WR to the general Marietta area. However, I hope to be leaving WR around 2:30-2:45 tomorrow. Would you be able to tell me what time are we really going to arrive?

Re: Melissa re:WR

  • Well, it all depends. Terrible answer, right?! It's true though.

If there is no traffic, like on a weekend morning or sometimes in the evening, you can make it in 1:30 (it's 1:45 to our house in Woodstock/575) easily. However, leaving WR around 2:30 will have you hitting the south-side around 3:30, which should be early enough to miss traffic. However, there is always a slow-down, if not a stop, in Henry County prior to the 675 split. Nobody seems to know why, it just is. If that area isn't too bad (or miracle of miracles, clear!), you'll be fine.

    I hope all is well.

  • At the 75/675 split, it slows down b/c so many people are indecisive as to which way they want to go and they don't realize which lanes actually go where (although if they would pay attention to the signs they would be informed). JMO from living in the area though.
  • Yeah, I used to drive from St. Augustine to Kennesaw at least once a month for about 10 years, so I'm with you on the Henry county fiasco. What is that all about?! Okay, well, I'm hoping we can make it through the city and such before 5. Hope springs eternal. Thanks!
  • You should be fine to be home by 5. Just keep an eye on GA Navigator.

I still say the 675 makes no sense because we always see it clear up before you even get to the split. It's always right before the split, so it gets a big WTF from us.
