Square Ft Garden Vertical Support
Everything seems to be doing ok which is a plus (except for the cilantro but I wasn't aware that it didn't like hot weather).
My tomatoes are starting to sprout baby tomatoes and my cucumbers are getting bigger so I'm thinking we need to go ahead and put some type of vertical support in the back row for those guys.
In the book he makes it sound like the cucumbers will climb on their own. Do I need to weave them in the netting to help them along? Will the tomatoes climb or do I just need to tie them to the netting so that they don't fall over?

Initially I had to help my cucumbers, but now they've got the hang of climbing.
The tomatoes you'll need to tie.

I had to help the cucumbers by tying them to the vertical support. Eventually, the tendrils of the cucumber vine will wrap around the support and climb up.
Tomatoes you will need to tie. I've found tomatoes really have a mind of their own and I have to tie them back when they grow away from the supports.
