Are there just 2 different ways to spell the same thing? Or are these 2 different things? Am I an idiot?
Re: kebab vs kabob
I figured it had to be true!!
I think it is kabob b/c that's how it is said. WhoTF says KEE BAAAAB?
It's not an English word, it's just transliteration, so there are many ways to spell it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kebab
Just like Chanukkah, Hanukkah, Chanuka... they are just phonetic spellings of a Hebrew word so there is not really one correct way, although some are more widely used than others.
LOL!!!!!!!! I've never heard of kebab, but then again...
My grandma calls a washing machine a WORSHing machine...
Tomato tom-oto
ect ect....
People are weird.
they are basically the same but sometimes different.
a shish kabob, as we know it, consists of smaller pieces of meat on a skewer or stick that are cooked then taken off as pieces.
you'll also find kebab as a big hunk of meat (often lamb or beef tenderloin) that is slow-cooked on a long metal rod. when cooked, the rod is stood up on its end and the meat is shaved off with a sharp knife.
It's actually more like keh-bob, the vowels are short, not long.
(e as in ready, a as in awful)
exactly. thanks for finding a pic of the first one - that's what i was trying to describe.
It took me a few minutes to think of the full name, so I can understand!
