refi - locked in at 4.75%

I couldn't completely follow DH's complicated charts and tables (he says we recoup our OOP in 11 months - based on cost to close and start "making" money in 4 years - based on interest already paid vs. interest saved).  But we decided to refinance and close next month.  It's funny, he does all the research but then I had to be the one to actual gather paperwork and get it done.

regardless 4.75% sounds a heck of a lot better than the 6% we got when we bought the house.

  • NICE!  We have a 5/1 ARM that will adjust in about 18 mos and we're at 5% so we're holding out.....fingers crossed that it will adjust in our favor or we'll be looking at a refi too.  4.75% is awesome!

    I have a 5/1 ARM on my condo. I was gonna refi but the LIBOR went down so interest rate is down to 3% for the year! I hope it stays like that until next year until the market gets better and we can sell!

    this is what ours is right now too! 

    Unfortunately, we can't refi b/c the value is so much lower now than what we paid - we'll be here awhile, even though I'm sticking as much as possible on the principle while the int rate is so low!
