hahaha kind of yes. we more so me really really really wanted a dog so finally after alex agreed - i got to pick the dog and alex the name. he wanted his name to be awesome, and memorable. it was right of obama won the election sooo alex chose that name!
i thinks its funny tooo - we both arent into any poilitics so it works out.
hes black and white - no pun intended with obama. heres a pic of him last yr for our family photos (before his hair cut - we arent mean and do cut his hair just this time we let it grow for our photos):

Actually, no, Dexter is a Chihuahua but looks like a min pin. Does your dog like other dogs?
I think we should have a dog GTG sometime with everyone who has a dog. Dexter LOVES other dogs. It would be so fun.

barack LOVES LOVES other dogs too! hes a dog park dog and his bffs @ the park are a big lab and a huge doberman!! its sooo funny to watch him play with the doberman - he stands all strong and tough guy like hahahaha lolz
a doggie g2g would be awesome! you live in the east valley right?!?!? do you guys take dexter to the dog park? we live in phx now but we lived in chandler - we would go to the snedigar bark park everyday. (off alma school and ocotillo) and sometimes over to shawnee park (on alma school and warner) if snedigar was closed or something. we also have taken him to cosmo park tons tons of times. cosmo is on ray and san tan village parkway.
ETA: cosmo is like a waterpark for dogs - theres a huge doggie lake for them to swim in. plus they have like 2 other regular dog parks/runs

We haven't taken him to a dog park because I read it's easy for them to pick up diseases there but that waterpark one sounds AWESOME!!!
I wouldn't totally be opposed to bringing him to one though if we all met up there.

i totally understand about the diseases part....i was very turned off by that at first. i asked our vet about it when we did barack's wellness exam. (i researched vets for the best one long before we even got barack) he stated that if your dog is healthy over all - like not too skinny or overweight - and he has all his proper shots you are good to go! barack gets his booster shots once a yr and he eats a healthy dog diet no human food. we also take our own water bowl to the park for him. if other dogs drink out of it, i go and empty it out and refill with fresh water. also, the park visit help with keeping him active, hes home all day without us and i can't imagine not letting him run around for a few hrs a day, all dogs even small need to get out and play.
I hear ya about the running around part. We take him out to the grass in our apt. complex and let him run for a little while. He loves it but doesn't listen to us very well when not on a leash so he doesn't get to stay out too long.
We also do not give him people food except pure chicken sometimes. He LOVES it!!
