Re: Weekend?

  • It wasn't bad... in fact there were some very nice parts. Unfortunately it was all overshadowed by a dumb move I made that ended up with my cell phone being completely fried. It is dead dead dead, and taking all my numbers, txts, pictures, and ringtones down with it. Ugh.

I got a new phone this morning, but its not my Razr and I'm annoyed with myself and pissed at having to figure out a new phone and somehow get everyones numbers again. Such a pain.  Sad

  • awww, meegs :(  so sorry to hear about the cell! i couldnt imagine what a pain that would be

we had a pretty good weekend all-in-all.

Saturday we dog-sat for BIL's two dogs and a friend's dog....yup, that means a total of 4 dogs and 2 cats in one house. And it was raining out so they were all inside.  it was interesting....

Sunday the dogs went home and we got on a party bus with a bunch of friends and hit up 4 of the CT wineries for tastings. So much fun!!

  • mine was good. i took friday off because it was c's birthday. it was rainy, but we had a nice day just sleeping in and doing some shopping. friday night we went to our favorite bar with a bunch of friends and had a great time.

saturday we went to a theme park with another couple that we're close with. it was tons of fun and the weather was perfect. it was a special event for c's work, so the park was closed to the public and the lines were really short which was awesome. oh, and c won me a little stuffed spongebob playing skeeball.

yesterday we slept in again, then she had to pack for her trip. we went out to lunch together and i dropped her off at her plant so they could head out. she's coming home on thursday night. i spent the evening doing homework and studying for my math exam.

  • our weekend was good but way too fast and now I am back to the mess that I call my school.  We went to a craft fair on Sat with S's mom it was fun but it was pretty small so I didn't see anything that I loved. Sunday we went to brunch with a friend and her two year old twins which was fun but not relaxing.  Then I spent the afternoon at the mall with the girl I nanny for doing her back to school shopping.  This was fun since I got to shop (although not for myself) with someone elses credit card!  I now know what it is like to just buy what ever you want without worring about the price. Only in my dreams but it was fun all the same and we found some really cute stuff.

Then home to do school work for the rest of the evening before going to bed at my new school night time of 9pm

  • Mine was very much needed after the stressful week at work.

Friday, J and I hung out, at her brothers house. We ate delicious homemade tacos and watched Live Free or Die Hard, while drinking tequila and lime. It was good night. Wink

Saturday, J played hookie from work, and we slept in. We woke up at 9:30a, let the pup out, crawled onto the couch, and finally moved from there at noon. We then did some house work, and laundry. That evening we went to the local race track. J's dad raced his '76 Camero. This was a big deal because he JUST put in a new motor. All the excitement left her dad a little dissapointed. The Camero raced a 13.1. Not bad, but not what anyone expected. We got home late, and crawled into bed.

Sunday we headed back over to the BIL's house, and watched a much needed Bourne marathon. I love those movies. We topped of the weekend with breakfast for Dinner.

Janet, I hope your second trip to NYC was better than the first.

  • Ugh.  Mine's here.  It was fairly traumatic!  It would have been much better with wine like ctbride or the US Open or tacos and tequila like rikkiandjulie!

If you read the post, I'd be interested to see if you think I should surprise her with a temporary replacement ring....

  • i'd say only go for the temporary ring if she would wear it outside of these couple weeks....ex. personally would love an excuse to get a new ring whereas andrea would begrudgingly wear it to appease me and throw it in a drawer one the real thing was back in play.
  • Weekend? What weekend? Just kidding. I was busy most of the weekend, doing childcare and writing a quarter's worth of papers for a independent class that was hanging over my head. Not recommended, but it feels good to be done.

Meegs, sometimes you can get lost numbers off of an itemized cellphone statement. It won't usually have the names, but you can try to search them and piece stuff together.

On the temporary ring front, I wore a plan silver band while I was in South Africa. The first thing C did when we met in London (after kissing me) was replace it with my engagement and wedding bands! So I guess the silver ring would be my temp if I needed it (god forbid!)

  • Friday night was Costco.

Saturday was cleaning and then Gymboree (in the pouring rain thanks to Hurricane Hanna), dinner at Red Robin, and grocery shopping.  Watched Nip/Tuck and 21 after the kids went to bed.

Sunday was the gym and Cheesecake Factory (sitting outside - it was beautiful!) After naptime we went to the playground and then the kids played in our yard with our 10 year old next door neighbor. More Nip/Tuck after the kids went to bed.

We really don't have exciting weekends anymore! :)

  • Thanks.  She likes the idea of a "hiking ring."  The sterling silver South Africa ring was the inspiration!

that's sort of what we did. c lost her ring and got a replacement that was much cheaper for the time being. we got me a matching one that i wear when we go kayaking or camping or anything like that. i love it, it's awesome to not have to worry about my "fancy" rings but still have something to wear.
