lets do it! so far the ppl interested in this are me, stacy, taylor, and emily. me and emily live in the wv so we would have to have this somewhere in the middle. anyone else want to join us?? i'll make doggie cupcakes for all the pups - i made some for barack's 1st bday and they are a hit! (yes, i had a party for my dog - go ahead and flame me.)
let me know if you and your pup want to join us...
Re: Doggie G2G
I'd be interested depending on the dogs.
My dog is very submissive, so if she is with very aggressive dogs, she runs, and hides, and it's not a pleasant experience...
Awww, Jen. Your poor doggie!!! Mine just loves to RUN!!! haha
Can we do this on a Sat. am since DH works then? I know he won't want to go but my little Dexter would love to. If Sat. doesn't work, no big deal at all. :-)
i know of 2 different (bark) parks that are somewhat in between the east valley and west valley. i've mapquested the distances for us:
1st - horizon park on frank lloyd wright and 92nd st in scottsdale- from bell rd and reems in surprise its a 39 min/32.85 miles drive straight down the loop 101, from central tempe its a 27 min/24.10 miles drive straight down the loop 101 as well.
2nd - steele indian school park on campbell ave and central ave in phoenix - from bell rd and reems in surprise its a 37 min/22.43 miles drive straight down grand ave, from central tempe its a 29 min/19.57 miles drive straight down the 202.
i personally haven't been to either of these. we can plan for a friday evening or saturday or sunday morning....
Daisy mae is not friendly, but I'm draggin her little butt there in a last ditch effort to socialize her. Lolz. Sorry in advance if she sucks.
If I'm lucky, she'll pee on me from being so nervous. Lolz, oh those dachshund tendencies...
ETA: Are we doing this this Sat.?
Can't wait to meet my baby boy!
no date has been set yet. i just want to see who would like to go 1st, which park and then set a date...everyone always was different schedules...
What kind of dog does everyone have?
Mine is a 60lb mutt...best guess? Aussie/Border Collie mix of some kind. Extremely friendly, loves everyone and everything. Over heats pretty easy, so maybe a really early Saturday morning now that it is a bazillion degrees out.
Took this one last night...
I agree we should plan for an early morning with the pups.
PS - Candice, this is officially the cutest pic I've ever seen, and your doggy is gorg., I love her coloring!
Can't wait to meet my baby boy!
awww tooo cute!!!
barack is shih tzu mix (vet thinks hes a shih tzu/lapso apso mix), he weighs about 13 lbs..super friendly with other dogs but also like to be on his own - loves loves big dogs. he has issues with tennis balls and will not share his ball with anyone. hahaha these are the only pics of him on my work computer...
LOL adorable! Brody won't steal his tennis ball unless it's a squeeky kind LOL!
i totally want to attend as long as everyones ok with big dogs. He's super gentle. I have 3 but would only bring the big boy because the boxers are way hyper. i would request early morning or later evening when it cools off though.
oh and no flames here i had a doggie cake made and invited everyone with dogs to the dog park for Diesels first birthday. so i too had a party with all his friends. My MIL thought i was nuts
I know this is kinda far for some people but what does everyone think about Chaparral dog park? http://www.scottsdaleaz.gov/parks/chap.asp
It is super nice (waaayyy better than Horizon) and sort of? in the middle for east and west and north people!
i dont mind the drive to chaparral but that is a longer drive for our nesties in glendale and surprise. let's be considerate to them and see what park they would perfer. one of my co-workers told me that chaparral park is awesome.
aww, what a cute idea!
I'm sooo out though. One of our dogs has severe ARS (that would be Ain't Right Syndrome... she was an abused puppy, and even though we've been spoiling her for 5 years she still doesn't do well with strangers)
