Anyone read the 100-Mile Diet?

Hi--i don't normally post on this board, but thought I'd check here first.  has anyone read the book The 100-Mile Diet or the US version Plenty?  I kind of got hooked on the show on Planet Green 100-Mile Challenge while I was on maternity leave and have been contemplating trying this out for 30-days...my local library doesn't have either of the books and I wasn't sure if either of them were worth the money at the book store...anyone have any advice or thoughts on the books?  TIA!

Re: Anyone read the 100-Mile Diet?

  • My favorite book about eating locally is "Animal Vegetable Miracle" by Barbara Kingsolver.

I haven't read the ones you listed. :)

This is me too, AVM is a fantastic book.  The "100 mile diet" is just a trendy name for eating locally, i.e. shopping at the Farmer's Market or a CSA, which most of us here do.  I'm not familiar with the book, but know tons and tons about the actual concept.  Ask any questions you want!
