Anyone tried Latisse?

I have really, really wimpy straight short asian eyelashes.

So, while I was getting laser hair removal done *down there* last Saturday, I was speaking with the tech about latisse. (all the girls at the place had the longest, fullest lashes that I had ever seen!) They had a special going on, so I was able to purchase the bottle for about $80 (which lasts about two months).

Has anyone tried this before? Thoughts?

I've only been using it for less than a week and I'm not supposed to see results until at least 4 weeks or so. I don't want crazy super long lashes, but something a little more fuller and longer would be nice. Once you stop using it, your lashes will return to previous state after a few months or so. Not sure what to think of the whole thing.

Re: Anyone tried Latisse?

  • ooooh, i'm interested to see how it turns out!  i have really long eyelashes but i always want more...i'm a mascara junkie :)

hmmm, maybe i wanna try it now...

  • You should do a close up before and after picture.  I would like to see the results too!
  • Lori (vanceandlori) has and she said for the price you pay, she preferred Revitalash. But she did say it worked. Just that it wasn't really worth it vs Revitalash. I'm in the same boat - sparse and short Asian eyelashes. So I'm dying to hear about your results!

  • My sister uses it....her lashes are crazy full!

  • my friend uses it & it does make her eyelashes full, but it kind of turned the skin on her eyelid (near her eyelashes) a little brown.  I wouldn't say it is terrible or really even that noticeable, but she notices & it bothers her a little.  I don't know if it was enough to make her stop using it though.

  • I haven't used latisse or revitalash, but i did use jan marini's eyelash conditioner before the wedding.  (i tried eyelash extensions first, and it was horrific - let's just say you get what you pay for!  i spent hours that night trying to take them off, pulling out like, half my already sparse lashes in the process.  if i were to bring it up now, 2.5 years later, i'm sure MH would still make fun of me about it, haha.  i'm still thankful i had the foresight to try it months ahead of the wedding first, which gave my poor lashes a little bit of time to grow in!)

anyhow, i think it made a difference!  i was too lazy to keep it up afterwards, so my eyelashes have long since gone back to normal.  i've read that jan marini's new formula doesn't work as well as the old one though.  i hope the latisse works for you!

eta: $80 a bottle sounds like a good price - i think the jan marini (when i got it) was $130, but at that point, i was willing to pay Wink

  • two words LOVE LATISSE!!!  i am very blond and as I have gotten older my lashes have thinned out a bit and with all the sun gotten blonder-latisse makes them darker longer and fuller-my friend even saw me and asked if my lash extensions would fall off in the water and i told her that it was latisse not extensions.  Anyway you will not see any results before 4-6 weeks and maximum results at 16 weeks.  When you stop using lashes will stay as is for a bit and then gradually go back to what they were before.  I plan to use through the summer-take some time off and then start up again before the holidays

I was hoping you'd chime in! When I read the OP, I thought, "hmm, I bet Alix has tried this - I wonder if she liked it?" Now I want to give it a try - I have very long lashes but they're not super thick.

  • This isn't the same stuff that caused Jen (jujubee96) to grow fur under her eyes is it?
  • hahahaha lisa i guess i must be resident superficial nestie-sadly appearances are part of my work and i am expected to present myself in a certain way....go for it though even my hubby is amazed by the results-he is considering using as well.  And hey, I am happy to share my years experience of oxygen facials, microdermobrasion, botox, laser hair removal, etc.....

I wouldn't say superficial - just that you're more into fashion and beauty than I am, which I'm glad about because it means I know someone I can ask for advice lol! I feel so helpless about that kind of stuff...I'm about the least stylish person on the planet - I just don't seem to have the eye for it. I don't understand how people can take interesting or unusual pieces and make them look great - I just look like I have no clue what I'm doing (which is pretty much true lol). It's probably why I tend to dress in very basic styles since I feel fairly confident that I can't eff it up.

  • lisa i am sure you are much more stylish than you think you are-besides part of being stylish is knowing what works for you.  that being said even as a small child i can remember picking my own clothing and helping my mother out with her clothing.  one of my early memories was sitting in Charles Jourdan (at the time a very high end shoe store) in paris where my mother was debating between brown boots and black boots-my reply-get both they each serve a different purpose....

love. Smile  i wish i was stylish too...<wistfully> though i guess then i'd wish i had the money to fulfill all my stylish aspirations - maybe it's better this way, haha.

  • Good idea! I'm gonna take some pics of my lashes, even though I've already started using it! Hope it works...
