UGH- really?

AF returned today on Lucy's 5 month birthday. C'mon! I exclusively breastfeed, so not fair.

Re: UGH- really?

  • Since I dont have kids and havent really reaad much into it, but what does your AF have to do with breast feeding?

  • Yucky!!! I hate AF now. Before...she wasn't so bad. She'd only come around every two months or so, no cramps, nothing. And only last a day and a half.

Now I have cramps from hell starting on the 24th of every month lasting until almost the 1st. :(

Nessa: I'm not an expert, Christina can probably explain more, but while you're breastfeeding the hormones make AF mad and never come back till you're done. :)

If you exclusively breastfeed many times your period will stay away for a longer period of time (sometimes the whole time you breastfeed)

  • Dude, I EBF twins and I got my first post partum .  when they were about 4 months old. It sucked!

It's a bogus OWT that people don't menstruate when nursing.

  • Damn, I'm sorry. Esp. when you are on vacation. I'm sure you didn't plan for that.

    Happy 5 months, little Lucy!!!

I had a friend that EBF for 12 months and as soon as her daugher weaned she got her Period.

I think some women's hormonal levels just allow them to not get it back until after.

I got my period when I was down at 10% bodyfat when I did a figure competition....most women wouldn't mensturate then but I did. So I'm assuming my hormones are higher or whatever. still sucks.

And EBFing twins it should be (IMO) mandatory that you don't get your period back, that is hard work!

  • ugh... only 5 months? i'm sorry. AF is evil.
  • Ugh--that stinks!

Mine came back sooner with each offspring, even with ebf. boo

  • Laaame! I'm sorry.  :(  I think BFing women should automatically get AT LEAST 9 months!!!

Well, at least you weren't using BFing as BC.  My cousins practice Quiverful (same thing the Duggars practice) and use BFing as BC.  They had twins in July of '05 and BFed the whole time... and #3 came just 13 months later!  They did better the second time around and #4 is about 2 years after #3.  But that first time really got them.  They were newlyweds, too!   I would have freaked!!!
