I know its too soon.. but have you ladies started thinking about whether youare travelling, spending the hols w fam. or friends?
Re: Holidays 2010!
Too soon? Pfft. I catch myself humming Christmas music year round, and randomly exclaim "YAY, it's almost here!" The hubs just rolls his eyes. I can't help the euphoria I feel from October- January
To answer your question, we always prepare to spend every week traveling to visit family, and talking about how nice it will be whenever we have kids and everyone will have to come to OUR place. But that's a ways off.
We're thinking about taking a trip to Colorado for New Years, which is different.
How about you?
Ditto this, it's my favorite time of year!
We are lucky enough that both of our families live nearby, so we dont have to travel. We do split Christmas though. Christmas eve dinner and opening gifts with the ILs, then Christmas Day is spent with my parents (DH usually goes later in the afternoon to see his family, I stay with mine).
I LOVE the holidays.
This year we are staying in.. we have spent too much money this year between a new car and loan repayment.. so no travel for us this year
Just DH and I are our canine son
Thinking about heading somewhere in SE asia for the holidays. We waited too long last year and was priced out of Thailand. Trying again this year or doign Sri Lanka with another couple!
I'm a holiday lover too! Not too soon for me! We literally, just today, decided to go ahead and host a Fun Old-Fashioned Family Christmas (a la Christmas Vacation) and I'm not sure I've ever been more excited for the holidays than I am this year...and it's July. lol
We're starting off the festivities the evening of December 23rd ringing the bell at one of the Salvation Army red kettles. I think the morning of Christmas Eve we might pick out a live Christmas tree for our livingroom (the fake one goes in the basement family room) and decorate it. Christmas eve night my husband will read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" and we'll watch a couple of classic Christmas movies. Christmas morning we'll make pancakes and crepes and open presents. Huge ham dinner Christmas afternoon and probably more movies or even a trip to the theater Christmas night. Church on Boxing Day. The week after will be filled with sledding trips, snowman building, shopping and maybe a day trip or two. New year's eve is also our wedding anniversary so maybe H & I can slip away for dinner in the early evening and then we'll ring in the new year with as many family members and friends as we can fit into our home! Pot roast dinner on January 1st, parades, football, naps, etc. SO EXCITED!
This is our first Christmas as a married couple, and I am just so excited to start our own family traditions. Both sets of our parents live in town, and I know we'll have to split time with them, but I am excited about waking up together on that special morning!
