Get Fit Group Check-in

I'm doing it tonight since I'll be gone in the morning.

**We need to think of some catchy cool name, because I am hating "weight loss group". lol** I edited the name to Get Fit Group. I'm still open for other name suggestions, but I like it a lot better than "weight loss group".

I'm not really sure how to do this since I've never done something like this before, so please feel free to help me out with this or add things, too. Please.

-What are your goals in the long run?

-What are your goals this week?

-What have you gained/lost in the past week? (Since this is the first week, you may not have this.)

  • -What are your goals in the long run? My goal is to get to 135 lbs. I don't really have a time frame, I just want to get there in a healthy way. When I'm done nursing I will put way more effort into losing weight and getting in shape. I don't want to hurt my milk supply now by doing anything crazy. DH and I want to do P90X.

    -What are your goals this week? I want to at least have another loss, I'm hoping for 2 pounds.

    -What have you gained/lost in the past week? I started on the 24th, this past Thursday, and have already lost 1 pound! I've only changed the way I've been eating and have cut out all pop. I went on a 2 mile walk tonight.

    -What is your plan this week? I plan on going on more walks. I might see what is in On Demand in the way of workout videos and do a couple. I'm still going to not drink any pop and keep eating healthier. I bought a bag of romaine today so I'm hoping to have salads for lunch. I am also going to work on eating breakfast more. Usually I don't eat anything until noon when I realize that I have a horrid headache. I seem to forget to eat.

    -Anything else you'd like to add? Is anyone interested in getting together to mall walk, walk around a neighborhood, at a track or any other type of working out?

    I want to get to 130 lbs. I use to cheerlead and was skinny like this once. I want to develop a workout routine. I really dread any kind of work out so I need to find things that work.

    -What are your goals this week?

    To say no everytime someone at work offers me chocolate/doughnuts/cake etc and to not order out. I want to pre make all my meals for work so I don't fall off the wagon.

    -What have you gained/lost in the past week?

    Nothing  hat I know of because I don't have a scale. I have to get a physical for nursing school tomorrow so I will know what I weigh and then I will try to weigh myself at work from now on or invest in a scale.. .

    -What is your plan this week? To work out at least twice this week. I work Mon-Wed 12 hours each so it is hard for me to get a work out in the days I am working.

     -Anything else you'd like to add?  I would love to get together and work out. Does anyone live on the west side of Lansing? I have a nice neighborhood to walk in or we could meet at a track or something. My schedule for July is open Thurs, Fri, Sat and most Sun.

    You should invest in a scale that way you can weigh yourself on the same scale and know how much you're losing each week. All scales are different. I hate going to the doctor for this very reason. lol  The cheap ones are like $10-15. 

    I live on the west side and would love to get together to walk. If something were set up during the day, I could push the boys in a stroller. In the evening I could leave them with DH. DS2 goes down at 7:00 and he nurses to sleep so I would have to be home around that time. Do you want to do something this week? I'm on vacation next week, so I wouldn't be able to meet then.

  • Yes! Let;s get together. I work Mon-Wed 9a-9p so I don't really have time then unless you don't mind moon lit strolls. I am free Thurs and Fri all day and Sat morning and then I think we are heading out of town for the 4th.
  • Thursday would be good for me since I have to pack and get everything ready on Friday and we leave super early on Saturday. I don't care what time of day as long as I can be home to put DS2 to bed. I'm so excited!!!
  • Thursday it is then. How about sometime in the morning around 10? I checked the forecast and it isn't supposed to be as hot (74). I would prefer to walk outside instead of the mall do you have any suggestions?
  • That sounds good to me, where would you like to meet? Hopefully others can join us too. If others want to join us on Thursday are you opposed to doing it in the evening? I'd love to do something at the same time weekly and have a group.
  • If more people can do it in the evening I don't care. I spend my days off just hanging out around the house and I don't have much going on. I don't have any friends in the area so it will be nice to get to know some of the ladies on here. I can do Thursdays the whole month of July but then my schedule will switch up in August.

    Are there parks close by? A school track? I am not really familiar with the area.  

  • The Grand Ledge track is really nice, there is also the river trail but I'm not sure how buggy that would be. Grand Ledge is nice to just walk in around town and the neighborhoods.

    Yes, Grand Ledge is a good spot. I used to live right in town so I am familiar with the neighborhoods..We could meet at the high school and either walk the track or if it is in use we could just walk around the area.

    Yes, Grand Ledge is a good spot. I used to live right in town so I am familiar with the neighborhoods..We could meet at the high school and either walk the track or if it is in use we could just walk around the area.

    This is perfect! If more people can come than we can do whatever time. If no one else can come than 10:00am works for me!

    -What are your goals this week? My goal is to eat healthy and keep exercising. 


    I am going to do the first week of couch to 5K again since I am easing into the running thing.  On the off days from that I want to either go to the gym and do the strength training circuit or go to water aerobics.

    Yes! Children and dogs are more than welcome. I plan on bringing my boys if I have to. If anyone does bring dogs than we'll just walk around town or neighborhoods, not at the track. I'm excited to get together to walk. Can you do this Thursday at all?

    What time is good for you? Szynskin and I were thinking about 10:00am on Thursday, but are both available all day. We plan on meeting at the Grand Ledge High School. The front of the school is tore up, but we can meet on the South side of the school across from the football field. There is a parking lot between the two that we can meet in.

I work during the day but would anyone want to walk when I get out? I could meet in Grand Ledge just after 5pm. I would have Haley with me. I don't live near GL so I wouldn't want to walk at night (like after bedtime) but if walking in the morning works better for everyone, go for it!

    -What are your goals in the long run?  Well ultimately, I need to lose a lot to get back to my goal weight (50-60 pounds) but for now I am aiming for 30-40 pounds, at which time we will begin TTC baby #2. I don't want to be at an unhealthy weight while PG.

    -What are your goals this week?  To track all of my food in a journal. I am doing WW and haven't been doing good with the tracking.  Also, to walk 3 more times at lunch this week.

    -What have you gained/lost in the past week? (Since this is the first week, you may not have this.)  I lost 1 pound last week.

    -What is your plan this week? Track my food, walk on my lunch break (a few of us girls started walking together at work)

    -Anything else you'd like to add? WE CAN DO THIS, LADIES!!! Wink

  • What are your goals in the long run? I want to lose 15 pounds by september....I am down about 20 now from starting in late april.

    -What are your goals this week?  not to gain.  I have a broken foot and can't quite walk the same with my lovely "shoe".

    -What have you gained/lost in the past week? (Since this is the first week, you may not have this.) I lost about 1.75 pounds

    -What is your plan this week? make good food choices

    after my foot heals, I would love to walk with y'all......evenings or weekends are better for me :)
