Need snack ideas

I need a snack for a craft party on Saturday.  Normally everyone brings cookies, chips, Chex mix, crackers, Cheetos, tortilla chips and jar queso, stuff like that.  There is no refrigerator or microwave, and everything will be left out all day so it can't be something that will spoil.  It must be bought in a store. But, I want to bring something that is lower in sodium and healthier.  People already bring veggies and fruit, so what is left?  The only thing I can think of is no-salt pretzels.  Help!

eta to bold some words

  • Pretzel crisps are yummy!

    Fruit & cheese kabobs

    Pinwheel sandwiches

You can put a nice cream cheese spread on a crostini and add a cucumber

  • How about a trail mix concoction of some sort?  A little bit of nuts and dried fruit to help keep everyone going for the day.

    Are pretzel crisps reduced sodium?

Can cream cheese set out all day without going bad?

If I make sandwiches with mayo, can they sit out all day without going bad?

I am not sure about the pretzel crisps.  They may make some that are reduced sodium.

When we have had the cream cheese crostinis at parties, we leave it out for hours and it is fine.

I wouldn't put mayo on them, I'd get packets and have it off to the side for people to add on their own.

  • What about a dip of some sort, like whole grain pita chips with garlicky white bean dip or asparagus guacamole?
  • Hummus could stay out for awhile.

    An antipasto platter?

    Ants on a log?

Haha, maybe it's a regional thing?

PB in celery with raisins.  Alternatives are any other dried fruit instead of raisins and cream cheese instead of PB.  It's normally for kids but it really is a great snack and is kind of childhood throwback for adults.

  • What do you mean bought in a store?  I have an excellent black bean and corn salsa recipe that is awesome with some good tortillas.

Apples and peanut butter slices.  Keep the apples bright white by dipping them in pineapple juice.

  • Something store bought that I just open up and set out.  No homemade dips or baked goods.

And, whatever it is, it will be sitting out for 10 hours.

    Tortilla Chips & Salsa?

TJ's sells sodium free corn tortilla chips.  Salsa is healthy and doesnt need refrigerated.

    Bruschetta & sliced/toasted baguette?

TJ's sells both of these as well, in some stores you can even buy the toasted crostini.

  • I guess I more wanted to know why it needed to be store bought.  Either way, it's hard to know what's available.  I'd just stalk the aisles of TJ's Worldmarket, your store, a specialty store for things that are shelf stable.
