Jason and I are going to start househunting in that general vicinity soon, but won't really be in the market until after the first of the year.

Anything I need to know about the subdivisions, etc out in that area?

We really love Trussville.  Some subdivisions to check out are:

Glen Cross

Hidden Trace

Magnolia South

Hawk Ridge

 All of these are newer homes....Glen Cross is brand new and actually still under construction.

I am more on the Pinson/Clay side of T'ville, but close nonetheless....there are a lot of newer subdivisions out near me. Let me know if you want to come out my way!

I live in Moody.  You could check out Alden Glen, Springview, Creekview, Ivy Place, Kelly Creek, Avalon Place, The Arbors, Southern Trace (in Leeds), Windsor Place.  Some of these subdivisions are built out but there are re-sales available.

Ok...I am going to agree with Elaine!!  She pretty much covered the spread :P

If you like hwy 119....drop in and check out Southern Trace.  A few of my good friends live there now.  They have some larger homes (2000 sq ft +) and some smaller garden homes.  They are also starting to build a new phase....it has some neat looking mid~sized homes!  It is a neat DR Horton community.

I also like Kelly Creek over off the Brompton exit!  It is also a DR Horton neighborhood...so you know you will be getting a nice home   The houses are super cute....the only downfall....is that they are not brick!  It is worth going to tour the model homes, though

If you like Kelly Creek....check out the new homes they are building across hwy 411 from Alden Glen!!  It is a smaller subdivision....the entrance is right beside the new gas station and snap fitness!  The houses remind me of KC...but they are more of a craftsman style home...with the neat columns   I wanted to go and tour the furnished model yesterday....just to get some decorating ideas ( i have been guilty of this a time or two!)...but this horrible storm blew out of nowhere and I just wanted to get home!

Girl...one Saturday or Sunday afternoon we need to just go check out open houses!  I love looking at different floor plans and getting cute decorating ideas :P

Oh...my friend just moved into KC....and I am so in love with her fireplace!!!  She is trying to make her hubby a "man cave" in the room over the garage....so that way he won't bother her during football season.....such a brilliant idea   That is seriously such a cute neighborhood!

I think the subdivision Pink is referring to is The Arbors.  It is an HPH subdivision.  Those house are super cute.  We tried to get info on the houses there when we started looking but nobody seemed to have their crap together before the construction started as to what type of houses were going to be built.  We love our little house because it is all brick and easy to heat and cool because it is all on one level - we have 1800+ sq. ft..  We came close to buying in KC and Southern Trace but the outside maintenance issue was a big deciding factor for us.

Oh crap....I forgot about that!!  DR Horton does have this weird homeowners board thing!  In our subdivision...we vote on our homeowners association board each year...and we have meetings monthly.  With them...they are managed through an outside company...and some of the "rules" are kinda funny.  If you are looking at one of their communities you might want to check that out first!

Uhh ya!!! Jason doesn't have the patience to go in those anyway so I can just leave him at home
