Oregon Nesties
Dear Community,

Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

If you have questions about this, please email help@theknot.com.

Thank you.

Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.

Looking to meet some new people

Anyone  have any good suggestions in the Portland area for possible volunteer opportunities or sports leagues?  DH and I are settled in (almost) here in Portland.  We recently joined a co-ed bowling league at Hollywood Bowl...who doesn't love bowling and a beer? :)  We really want to get out and meet some new people in this great city!!

  • What kinds of things do you like to do? You could take some non-credit classes at Portland community college. Also check your local community center, they have cooking classes which could be a fun date if nothing else. Do you have any kids or a dog? Kids are suposed to be a good way of meeting other parents by signing them up for classes at you local community center. Or if you have a dog take it to the park and try to get to know other dog owners. You could always try to set up a nestie get-together maybe you will hit it off with one of the girls on here.
  • Have you checked out meetup.com? There are tons of groups on there. I joined a few groups and went to one event. It was pretty fun. I've joined a group that I think is more my speed, but haven't made it to an outing yet.
