Anyone have any exciting plans for the summer? Since I have like negative 40 vacation hours to make up from the HM, I need to live my summer vicariously through yall. What are you guys getting into? We'll probably just do a lot of grilling out at the house... go to the lake... lots of R&R
Re: Summer plans?
Finish up stuff around the house in preparation for soon-to-commence baby making! We finally bought end tables & a coffee table for the livingroom this past wknd and they'll get delivered this week.
I'm heading out to Napa Valley & San Fran for a few days over the 4th of July long weekend - DH is out there now on business and I'm meeting him out there rather than him fly home this wknd so we can do some fun things for the holiday. We're doing a Wine Train on the 4th where they serve you dinner and drive you around and see the fireworks from the train!
We'll head to Newport later this summer for a wknd where my friend will be skydiving to celebrate her birthday. (I'll be staying on the ground to watch! and then we're all having lunch)...
So that's our plans. :-)
I am spending my summer going to the gym and looking for jobs.
In two weeks I get to take a break for a week while we go on the honeymoon!! San Fran and Sonoma here we come!!
This, exactly! I'm looking for teaching jobs, and their are pretty much no openings around here.
I'm thinking of doing this:
http://www.warriordash.com/
And hopefully we'll get in some camping
Money's a bit tight this year so I don't think we'll be going anywhere exciting. Though if I do the Dash that'll be a little vaca since it's down in Oregon.
Nothing big. We're going to hang out with my best friend and her husband on the 4th (partially an avoid-his-mother maneuver, partially a little tradition we're starting with them). We're spending most of our free weekend days at the pool.
We'll be going to a Toby Keith/Trace Adkins/James Otto concert in August, but Matt doesn't know that yet (it's his birthday present).
I want to keep getting the house the way we want it. It's a constant battle! Haha. I'm working on making the bedroom less hostile right now.
Uumm we're possibly going camping with my family this weekend for the 4th. If we don't leave Friday night we're going to drive up Sunday and spend the day with them. We're hoping to save up some money and go to the Outer Banks, NC for a long weekend in September. I've only got 1 vacation day left at work though and HH doesn't have any so we'll have to see how that goes. Other than that just working on our house, right now we're working on the flower beds out front. HH is picking up the new dirt to put on top of the weed barrier later so we'll be shoveling dirt tonight lol.
holy crap, hayley... that looks totally awesome! I might have to talk DH into doing that with me!
We're going to our friend's new place for the 4th this year-- where I will be bringing my 5th consecutive Flag Cake and vodka filled watermelon! Then the next day we're all doing a canoe trip up the river together!
My girlfriend and I have also started Beach Mondays- we're both teachers, so we're off during the summer and now every Monday we're going to drive to the Jersey shore and send our DH and BF mean text messages while they're at work... muahaha! (that's a menacing laugh, btw)
It's sounds silly, but I'm actually starting to get bored being at home all the time... so MIL gave me a bunch of books, I'm getting out the old canvas and paint, and learning to cook
Aaron bought me Sugarland tickets for my birthday. He HATES country music! haha.. He won't even listen to them now to get ready for the concert. It's so awesome to know he is doing it all for me.
Adam loves country. I even convinced him to go to a Taylor Swift concert with me a couple of years ago!!! I LOVE Blake Shelton though, so I'm super pumped that they just announced him as the special guest with Miranda Lambert!
EEEEWWWWWWW COUNTRY!!!!!!!! :P
haha it's pretty much the ONLY kind of music I don't like. I refuse.
Country music is all I listen to! ha ha That and gospel. I can sing almost any country song you throw at me! HH didn't listen to country much before we met. Now thats all he has on his radio!
I'm right there with you, except throw in being uncoordinated and having no rhythm.... When we drove to GA this past weekend, right as we were pulling into the town where I went to college, Tone Loc came on the radio and Adam and I seriously broke it down in the car! We were dancing like jackasses. I love that I can be completely stupid with him
I've done something similar called a Muddy Buddy (http://muddy-buddy.competitor.com/) They are a ton of fun!
HH and I dont really have any set plans for the summer. We are recovering from paying for the wedding so we might go camping or head to the lake a few times. However, now I want to go to a concert! I love country music, especially Texas Country which is a little different than the rest.
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
Our big plans for the summer include our two week HM! We are doing a cruise through the Mediterranean (Spain, France, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Croatia). It is going to be so awesome, I can't wait!
HH is running hockey camps all over Atlantic Canada for pretty much the rest of the summer, so I may go with him for some of those. We'll hopefully get to do some camping, and we've got lots of friends who are planning on coming up to visit us from our home province (where I just moved from) to enjoy the sights and sounds of this beautiful wilderness. We might do some jetboating, some ziplining, and spending some time at the cottage. Hopefully I'll get a few trips to the States in to do some good shopping too! Especially since now I have my new passport!
