Day #2 check in

How did you ladies in the weight loss group do today? I didn't do as good as I should have but I didn't do horribly either. We had a cookout celebration thingy at work so I did not walk at lunch time today. I ate pretty good, though. I had a piece of grilled chicken and some fresh fruit. I grabbed a potato salad but I didn't love it so I threw that away.

How was day #2 for you all? Or, I should say how has it been since it's not even 6 p.m. yet :)

  • I didn't do too bad. (I think) All the cookies I made last night went to H's work. I took the dogs for one walk, about to go on another. It is weirdly cold today, great day for walking. I cant wait for Thursday! H thinks I am nutts. I told him about meeting up with people in GL to walk and he just rolled his eyes.

    I didn't do great in the eating department today, I won't even say what I ate. BUT! I did get a grilled chicken salad at McDonald's today when I was out. Usually I'd get a cheeseburger. lol  The good thing is that I chased 2 little ones around the play area at the Meridian Mall today for an hour and then went on a 45 minute bike ride with DH and the boys tonight.

    I'm so excited for Thursday! I can't wait to meet some new ladies as well as get some walking in. I'm hoping it is as cool out on Thursday as it was today. It was a fantastic day out!!!

  • By the way, I'm glad you posted a check-in for today... I was mad at myself for eating like crap today. haha

    I was thinking today... what if we started a group on a different website so we don't clog this up too bad? I already have a website in mind, its the same one I use for my mom's group. It's free, no viruses and has a place for a forum and a calendar. It'd be great to be able to have a calendar to put the times we're meeting up and where. It's just a thought, but I'd love feedback. OH! Another great thing is that its PRIVATE and no one can see our information that we don't want, unlike here... Let me know what you think!

  • Great job ladies!!! Sounds like we all had great days. I like the idea of moving our weight loss group to a different site. We don't want this board loading up with posts when not everyone on here wants/needs to be in our group. Great idea!

    LOL- Funny! I'm sure we'll all still be around here... or at least I hope we would be. I just don't want to put a ton of personal information on here about me. What if we kept 95% of it on the new site and do Monday check-ins and answer just a couple basic questions each week? That way we'd still check this board, we'd get new people interested in the Get Fit group and we could still keep private information private? We'd also do more in depth check-ins on the other site. I'm just throwing ideas out there and looking for feedback.

  • Sounds good to me! Plus with the Monday check-ins still on this board, that would remind us to check the new site in case we forget to. It might be hard to remember to check it at first so it would be nice to have this as a reminder in case someone forgets. Like you said, anyone can find this board and we should keep as much info private as we can. Maybe we should DD about meeting up on Thursday?
  • I did pretty good today at work. I even said no to the nutty butty bars in the junk cabinet. I am thinking about going in the basement to walk on the treadmill but I have so much stuff to get done before another long shift tomorrow.

  • I didn't do the greatest today.  I did my couch to 5K today though so I did exercise.  I didn't eat the greatest though.  We went out to dinner and I really need to do some grocery shopping.  Oh and we also went out to a lake to try out some kayaks.  That was fun :-)

    What did you do today for the couch to 5K? I've heard you talk about it, but I don't know what it is. I should probably use Google to find out though, eh? 

  • It is a program that takes you from walking up to jogging for 30 minutes.  It is a nine week program.  For week one you warm up for 5 minutes, alternate jogging for one minute and walking for 90 seconds.  You alternate the jogging and walking for 20 minutes.  Then you do a 5 minute cool down.  Each week it gradually goes up more jogging and less walking.  I have read people say that the program made them love to run.  I am not a runner so I am doing the first week for two weeks and just see how it goes from there.
