Does anyone have ferns growing out of control?

I have pacassandra (spelling off, sorry) and there are giant fern plants growing all throughout. These plants are relentless and solid into the ground. I can't even pull them out. I'm thinking I'll need to dig them all out but how do I prevent them from growing? They are awful.

Are you sure they're ferns? Can you post pics?

  • I agree with the pp.  Are you sure they are ferns?  Ostrich ferns spread a lot with their runners (in addition to the spores they send out) but their roots are easily dug/pulled up.
