The board has been a little slow, so I'm going to try out some new conversation starters.

Today's topic: How old do you want to live to and why?

I want to live long enough to experience what I can, but die before my body fails completely. So maybe like 85. Then again, my great great aunt was still in great shape at 92, so maybe I should add a few years.

I was thinking right along these same lines. Basically I want to live as long as my body can keep me functioning for myself.

I have to agree with the previous posts. I hate to think I would be a burden on anyone else.

Agree with you, keb. I really don't want to deteroriate, but I want to live a full and content lifespan.

As long as I am of sound body and mind.  We watched my grandpa suffer from Alzheimer's for years and it was one of the most difficult things I've gone through.

I agree with the others too... the age doesnt matter, I dont want to live past the point where I can get around easily and take care of myself.  I would never want to be a burden on my kids or have to spend the last years by myself in a nursing home or not know who my family was.  Hopefully I can be like my dad's parents and still partying, travelling and super happy at 78.  I dont see them going anywhere for a long time because they seem at least 10 years younger than they are.
