I REALLY hate it when...

...you have your heart set on someplace to go to eat and when you get there...it's GONE!

LeeAnn and I went to Boston Market today and as we pulled into the parking lot, we realized that it's totally and completely gone :(  There was a company there loading up the tables and chairs, all signage was gone...I'm so sad.  Sigh.

Re: I REALLY hate it when...

  • Yeah, that sucked!  Crying  I don't know what I'm going to do when I get pregnant again since I ate there at least once a week when I was pregnant with Rylie.  Boo!
  • Well now we all need to know where you went instead.

I wonder if they are closing several locations?

  • LeeAnn was gonna get Jockamo's, but they're gone, too. We ended up 5 Guys.  And now my stomach hurts from the grease :P
  • It's happened twice to us in the last month! I too will miss the Boston Market!
  • Wow- I haven't been on that side of town in forever, but, it sure sounds like things are closing left and right over there! It must look so different! :(

    It's sad sad sad!

And that happened to me once with Gabe in my belly- I wanted a specific burrito from a hole-in-the-wall restaurant for months, and finally got there to find out they'd closed a few weeks prior! Waaaah! I seriously SOBBED- stupid hormones! :)

  • Whoa I didnt know Boston Markets are in trouble financially?!?!  Man my mother in law lives there for dinners when they come to town.  That and Bob Evans.  The one in Lake Mary is always packed!  That is a shame.

I was craving chicken salad for lunch today and ended up at Panera to get it since there wasnt another place around that serves it.  I dont like Panera's version I came to find.

Chick Fil A has awesome chicken salad!  I had never had it there before and I got it on one of the platters I got for Steph's baby shower.  It was really good.  (I don't care much for Panera's either.)

  • I love Boston Market...I would be sad if they closed the one by me. I have found myself craving their meatloaf alot since being pregnant...I love the spinach too.

Haha!  That's what I get there too!  The meatloaf, creamed spinach and either green beans (if I'm being good) or that 4 cheese captavi (if I'm being not so good).  Big Smile  Wow...another thing in common.  Wink

  • WHO SAID CHICK FIL A?!?!?!?!?!?!?!  Yummmmmm!!! :)
  • I dont have a Chick Fil-a close enough to my work or that is where I wanted to go.  They have the nice southern style chicken salad I like.  Panera's had I think an entire jar of mayo and onions with huge strips of chicken.  Just all fell out of the bread and was not appetizing looking.
  • Our Boston Markets are still alive and kicking here. lol

Wait!!!  Jackamo's on Sand Lake is gone.  It was there last week and my DH and I were gonna go this weekend.  I have been craving a Mufalata!!!!  Please say it's not true....

Yup, it's gone...everything inside of the store was gone and all that was left was the hours sign on the front window and the sign above the store.
  • We'll see more and more restaurants closing. Not cool for those of us in the restaurant leasing business. Corporate Boston Market as well as a bunch of other corporate franchises are closing their least profitable locations. With rising costs and less people going out to eat, they just can't make it :(

I hate it when you are craving something, get to the parking lot and the restaurant is closed. I remember when it happened to me with Chevy's. I NEEDED their margarita! :)

Please tell me that's not the Boston Market at Sand Lake @ JYP. I love going there for lunch!

  • Oh no, not Jockamo's! Say it ain't so! Jockamo's was my husband's and my official "lunch date" spot. And, really, where else in Orlando can you get fried pickles?

I will be a little bummed, too, if it is the JYP Boston Market. There's just not that many good places to go in that shopping center.

  • Diane - Gators Dockside has fried pickles. YUM!

  • Ooh, that's good to know!  :)

Mimis Cafe has fried pickles also.  Pretty yummy.

I was shocked Jockamos  is gone as well.

  • Yup, it's the Boston Market on Sand Lake and JYP.  We thought that MAYBE they were remodeling or something...nope, every single sign that indicated what was there is now gone.  It's not even listed on their webpage anymore.

That's the one next to the Wal-Mart where the woman was kidnapped and raped (with her baby in the car) a few months ago.  And a few other bad things have happened there recently.  5 Guys wasn't overly busy when we were there, too.

  • I didn't hear about that, Steph! I work in the business park right across the street from that Wal-Mart. Scary! Too bad about BM though!

  • I work over there too, and we've been hearing that the there Wal-Mart has had crime issues for a while. The rape story that was in the newspaper was the worst. I still try to be careful going over there and usually avoid it after dark.
