Ears, Nose, Throat doctor?
I got my nose broke last week playing soccer. Had to go to the med center that night because I got a laceration that needed stitches. The swelling in the nose has gone down and my nose is no longer straight. It really bothers me. I went to my primary doctor today and she is referring me to a specialist for possible surgery.....
She asked if I had a doctor in mind and I don't. She mentioned a Dr. Harold Hollander.... Anyone heard of him?
Anyone have any other recommendations? Also, if anyone has broken their nose.....I'm open for advice
TIA
Re: Ears, Nose, Throat doctor?
I have seen the doctors at ENT Consultants on Cascade. They are very nice, and well respected. I have personally seen Dr. Henry and Dr. Daniels. Dr. Henry has been in practice for a long time, and has done surgeries for both me and my Mom.
Sorry to hear you broke your nose, that has got to hurt. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
My ENT used to have a practice in MI, and I know she goes home 'frequently'. I'll ask her tomorrow if she knows of anyone on the GR side of the state.
If a DR. I really like refers me to a specialist, I"ve found that I like that person as well. They usually pick referrals that they would go to themselves, as it's a reflection of them.
ugh, sorry to hear that! I had my nose broken when I was waaaaay younger, like 7 or 8 (accidentally hit in the face by my brother, funny story now). I finally got around to having it looked at when I was 16 because I couldn't breathe much out of one side of my nose, you could also see where my nose was crooked. Turned out I had a deviated septum. So I had a surgery 9 years ago- septoplasty- to repair it. It was quite unpleasant, but I guess any surgery probably is.
I think it's been re-broken since then, who knows on what. But you can see that my nose is not straight anymore. Although I can still breathe much better than before I had the surgery.
The doctor I went to probably isn't local to GR, but his name was Dr. Sterrett. But I know he works in Battle Creek and Coldwater (or he did). He also did surgery on my Dad's nose a few years ago.
Hope you don't have to have anything major done!
Thanks Ladies! I hope it's not too bad either and I have heard nose surgery isn't fun....... ugh!
TheWop (sorry I don't know your first name) I would love to know what your neighbor thinks.
I had septoplasty for a deviated septum earlier this year.
I think they've made advances in the surgery, because it really wasn't that bad.
The unpleseant thing for most people is having the packign removed from your nose. Packing isn't necessary, my ENT published lots of articles on the topic. I had no packing, and was ok. I took a week off work. I would have been fine sooner, but figured i'd stay home and relax.
