Re: hi
You are welcome here! Not all of us are of the Quad Cities. Mah is in Decatur, I'm in the Peoria area, and we get some other peeps from eastern Iowa.
It has been suggested to check out the STL board, but I don't quite fit there (?)... guess cause I'm not really a Saint Louie girl underneath it all.
Tell us a little about yourself!
im 21 i work as a receptionist. I love my job for the most part but im looking for a job with some more hours. I have a wonderful and goofy FI who is also 21 he works 2 jobs. we are planing a Dec. wedding.
My fav. things to do are read, spending time wt my family and friends, cook, and shop (as most women do )
i would like to know more about you ladies too.
How far south in IL do you live? I live in the Decatur area and the three closest boards were this one, STL, and Chicago. I'm not very familiar with Chicago and am not a fan of STL, so I hang out here.
I'm 24, just celebrated my 2 year anniversary w/ the man I've been w/ for nearly 7 years now, bought a house last year, and am home much less than I'd like to be. I work full time as a CNA at a nursing home in the evenings and spend my days in school taking the last few pre-reqs so that I can apply for the RN program.
Also, I'm not originally from this side of the Mississippi. I grew up near Kansas City and went to college in Columbia, Missouri [Go Tigers! M-I-Z-Z-O-U!]. The hubs is an engineer for Caterpillar and they were "kind" enough to send us to this stinky place.
I'm right by Carbondale GO SIU lol
I love it here if Carbondale doesn't have what you are looking for Marion will have it and its only 10 mins away wt little towns in between.?
Im planning my wedding atm its been going back and forth date wise bc of money reasons but, we have set the date that WILL be the date lol 12-11-10. I cant wait lots to do between finding a place and planning the wedding but i wouldn't have it any other way I love being busy (also gives me stuff to look up while I'm work lol)
I have yet to go to Decatur but Ive heard its really pretty esp. in the fall. Im thinking around or in Decatur there is a bed and breakfast that the Fi and i were thinking about going to after we are married.(again i think)?
So how did you and your H meet?
Someone lied to you. Decatur looks like garbage. The East side of town smells terrible 24/7 thanks to ADM and Tate & Lyle. The city, in general, looks rather poor and run down.
DH and I were next door neighbors when we were little kids and grew up in the same 3,000 person town. We began dating my senior year of high school and I followed him to Mizzou.
If you're concerned about finances for your wedding, do as much as you can yourself. We made the invitations, decorations, food, flowers, etc. We had a really nice wedding for much less than it would have cost had we used people for everything.
lol ?idk if they were talking about country roads around Decatur and tree changing colors or the actually town.?
I love stories like that. Your very lucky that you date much your Sr and college..its not very fun..lol
My Fi and i met in college and didnt date until about year after we met. (he actually waited through 2 different relationships for me) I couldnt be happier wt our relationship.
Well since we are having it Dec it gives around anther 4000 (so of this for furniture ect. for the house) to play wt which is very nice. I am doing my center pieces and decorations. Food however i just have time for so we are going to have hire out for that but i dont think it will be that much of ?a difference. As for invitations im lucky that im right by Carbondale bc they have this amazing print shop and for invitations and programs its going to be around 300-400 so im not complaining there. One less thing for me to worry about. l
We ordered free samples of invitations we liked and made our own. I used a coupon for our invitation kit at Michaels and got it for $9, plus the cost of stamps. Paper + Ink + Stamps I think we spent maybe $50.
