Bushes/shrubs
Does anyone recommend a certain bush/shrub that looks pretty and isn't too high maintenence? My DH and I are doing some landscaping and had two of the UGLIEST bushes I've ever seen in our side yard. We cut them out and now we have a huge bare area that we want to fill with new bushes or shrubs. I already have numerous Hostas around our yard so I'd like to avoid those if possible. TIA!

Not enough info.
How much sun will it get? How big do you want it? How much moisture will it get? Do you need flowers? Do you need evergreen foliage? What kind of soil conditions will it have?
We could suggest dozens of shrubs, it helps to have more specific criteria.
I'm also curious what the ugly shrubs were, so I don't suggest them (in case I find them beautiful!).
