Speaking of seeds . . .

has anyone done a price comparison, or are they pretty much the same? Hoping to do a fall garden this year :-)

Re: Speaking of seeds . . .

  • I haven't done a price comparison, but it is very important to me to have organic seeds.  Conventional seeds are often pre-soaked in insecticide to keep them from being eaten, the seeds could be GMO also.  I also want to support a small, local company that is selling seeds for backyard gardeners like me, and therefore has seeds in small quantities, rather than huge companies who are also serving commercial growers.

This year we bought from www.highmowingseeds.com and have been very happy with them.  Everything had a good germination rate, and has grown well.

  • I like highmowing too and used them this spring - but they don't have parsnips :-( The list that Alisha posted was great, but there are so many choices it's hard to know who to pick.
