Modem and router for Charter internet?

We are getting Charter internet installed on Tuesday.  I really would rather buy a modem and be done with it instead of renting one.  It will save more in the long run.  Anyway, we are planning on having the computer in the living room and DH has a Wii console that we would like to be able to have wireless access to the internet.  I am thinking I need a modem and a router to accomplish this?  I know their are combo modems and routers.  Can you please suggest a modem and router or combo that will work for me?

Re: Modem and router for Charter internet?

  • I had an old router that I've been using for years (I think it's a linksys).  I, too, wanted to stop paying to rent a modem.  We bought the Motorola Surfboard SB6120, which is a DOCSIS 3.0 modem, and our Charter installation guy said it was an excellent choice.
