What could kill a willow tree?

As of this year, my willow tree has a big spot of bare limbs and it just doesn't seem to be as healthy as in the past.  Any ideas of what it could be?  I don't want to lose this tree so if it's something I can take care of, I'm glad to do it.

Many things. Willows are short-lived and not particularly tough trees- they're susceptible to a plethora of disease and insect problems.

If the tree is important to you, call a Consulting Arborist who does plant health diagnostics.
