You know you've been aroud the wedding industry too long when...

you're writing a paper for school and instead of typing ... is a valuable tool you type tulle.  And then when you go to correct it you still add an "e" at the end.

Anybody else caught themselves using something wedding (or even TK terminology) with people that will have no idea what you're talking about?

Re: You know you've been aroud the wedding industry too long when...

  • I wrote so many emails to vendors over the last 18 months.  When I typed to them, they know what a lot of the shorthand for wedding stuff.

But I find myself wanting to do that with EVERY email I type lately.

  • Yah, I was writing thank you notes last night and in my sister's I almost wrote how she was such an amazing MOH. Decided I should probably spell out maid of honor!

I was talking about escort cards with a group of friends and even the married ones were like, "what are those?" I was like, "Well, you had them!" I guess maybe in Maine people call them something different? I learned the term through mags and TK.

  • I wanted to call Jarrod "FI" every time I typed about him to people who didn't know him.  And switching from FI to H or DH is proving a hard habit to break.

  • Saying this is my husband has been hard for me to do. I still want to say FI. I find myself doing a lot of abbreviations as well especially when family and friends e-mail to tell me they really enjoyed the wedding. Then I have to go back and type out the stuff I abbreviated.

  • H and I are deciding what decorations to put in our place and I had the urge to make a damn inspiration board. So sad.

LOL.  Technically, that's what designers do, too.  Love it.

I don't feel too bad now, but H looked at me and was all "WTF is an inspiration board? I didn't know you have you be inspired to decorate a damn room."

One of my favorite guy quotes from him, "Why do we need throw pillows for the bed? It's not like you can sleep on them and no one's going to come in to our bedroom anyways."

Ha!  H said that when I registered for shams and throw pillows for our bedding.  What's a sham?  Why do we need throw pillows?  What the hell is the purpose of a breakfast pillow??

That Miller Lite commercial came in to my mind when I read this. I could see my H doing this if it were bottles of Captain Morgan.
